19:45: Huddersfield v Preston – Draw

It may be early in the season, but this feels like a significant game for both Preston and Huddersfield, who both find themselves in the bottom three after two games.

Preston, who are one of two clubs in the Championship yet to pick up a point, find themselves bottom of the division following a 4-1 hammering at home to Hull on opening day and a narrow defeat at Reading on Saturday.

Huddersfield, on the other hand, managed to pick up a point in their opening day draw with Derby but have since suffered a crushing 5-1 home defeat to a Fulham side playing with ten men for 20 minutes.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

Worryingly, the Terriers conceded twice after Fulham were reduced to ten, which will have dealt a blow to their morale.

Both sides could do with a confidence-boosting win on Tuesday, but their early-season form suggests that they may cancel each other out.

It is worth noting that Preston were markedly improved in their away defeat to Reading and they can take plenty of positives from the performance.

They could have snatched a draw in the closing minutes of Saturday’s defeat but can register their first points at the Kirklees Stadium on Tuesday.

19:45: Barnsley v Luton – Barnsley to Win

Both Barnsley and Luton exceeded expectations last season after both clubs pulled off miraculous escapes in the 2019/20.

Luton finished a respectable 12th last season after staving off relegation with 10 points from their last four games in the season previous.

Barnsley, meanwhile, went from needing a last-minute winner to avoid dropping into League One to a play-off appearance in the space of one season.

They achieved this spectacular result through a series of low-scoring wins and draws and appear to be on track to repeat the feat at this early stage of the season.

Valerien Ismael may have departed for West Brom over the summer, but little appears to have changed under new manager Markus Schopp at this early stage of the season.

Luton, meanwhile, have enjoyed a mixed start to the season, hammering Peterborough on the opening day before falling to as comprehensive a 3-2 defeat as possible against West Brom. They may fall to a second successive away defeat at Oakwell.

19:45: Millwall v Fulham – Fulham to Win

Fulham’s bid to win promotion for the third Championship season in-a-row kicked into life with a dominant victory over Huddersfield on Saturday.

The Cottagers had toiled in an opening day draw with Middlesbrough but justified their favourites tag with Saturday’s emphatic win.

It has been a case of same old, same old for Millwall, who have drawn their opening two games of the Championship season.

Gary Rowett’s side drew the most games (17) of any side in the Championship last season and are on course to do so again after consecutive draws with QPR and Blackburn.

Their run of draws could come to an end against a Fulham side that is fast becoming England’s newest yoyo club.

19:45: Blackpool v Coventry – Blackpool to Win

Blackpool may have fluffed their lines in their first home game in front of fans in almost 18 months, but they have an opportunity to make amends against Coventry on Tuesday night.

Blackpool’s defeat to Cardiff leaves them on one point after two games, while Coventry sit on three points after a come-from-behind win against Nottingham Forest was followed by a defeat at Barnsley.

Coventry’s away defeat is no great surprise given that they boasted the fourth-worst away record in the Championship last season, winning just four of their 23 games on the road and losing 13.

That wretched away record came when away teams were winning with unprecedented frequency on account of no fans being permitted in stadiums, so one would have to worry about Coventry’s away form this season.

Blackpool, meanwhile, could do with a win on Tuesday before a winless start turns into something more worrisome.

They boasted the fourth-best home record in League One last season and will hope to claim their first three points of the season in front of a boisterous home support.

19:45: Barnsley v Luton – Barnsley to Win
