Sunday night’s MLS fixtures have a few of the big names clashing so we’ve decided to go searching for value. We’re just past the midpoint in the season with New England Revolution already eight points clear in the Eastern side of the division while things are a bit more even on the Western half where just two points separate Sporting Kansas City, Seattle Sounders and LA Galaxy in the top three. All four of our games though are from the Eastern conference, let’s have a look at where we’ve uncovered some value.

23:00: Chicago Fire v New York Red Bulls – Draw

Both teams share the same form over their last five games; both have won none of them, drawing three and losing two. Over the last couple of seasons, New York have held the upper hand in head to head matches, winning three of the last five, losing one and drawing one. In games played at Soldier Field though things are a little more even where they’ve won two, Chicago have won one and two ended level.

Chicago have the better goal stats here though, they’ve scored nine and conceded five over their last five MLS games at home while New York have scored five on their league travels, conceding six. At home this season Chicago have averaged 1.36 goals per game to New York’s 1.0 goals per away game and while it looks like Chicago should edge it on those stats it must be emphasised that both teams have drawn three of their last five and lost the other two. They’re equally as bad as each other and with these tending to be tight, low-scoring games the best option here is the Draw.

23:00: Inter Miami v Nashville SC – BTTS: No

Inter Miami’s season is going just about as good as you’d expect for a team managed by Phil Neville; not very. They’re bottom of the Eastern Conference on just 13 points after 15 games, the lowest in both sides of the league, having scored just 13 goals, the joint lowest over both sides. Nashville, on the other hand, are fourth in the table and have only lost one of their last 10 in the league. Miami have won two of their last 10, winning just one of their eight home games this season.

However, Nashville have been pretty muck on the road, drawing five and losing one of their six away games this season. This will be Nashville’s third away game in-a-row and they’ve only managed to score three away goals all season. Miami have scored seven over their eight on home turf. This won’t be a classic, we’re going with BTTS: No for this one.

23:00: New England v Philadelphia – New England to Win and BTTS

New England Revolution have a healthy eight point lead over Orlando at the top of the Eastern Conference while Philadelphia Union sit in fourth on 28 points. There’s a healthy rivalry between both sides here with Union winning three of their last five meetings, one ending level and the Revs winning the other. At matches held at the Gillette Stadium, Union have won two to the Revs’ one with two ending all square.

All that being said, Union are enjoying a bad run of late, they’ve now gone six matches without a victory on their league travels but did score at least one in five of them, while the Revs have won six of their last eight at home, drawing and losing one apiece. New England have the superior form here but they’re not much bothered with clean sheets and this Union side has plenty of firepower. New England to Win and BTTS has the value here.

Sunday 01:00: DC United v Montreal – DC United to Win

DC United are in better shape than Montreal here, they’ve won two of their last five in the league, drawing two and losing one. Montreal have won just one, drawing one and losing three. Montreal’s form is the same on the road, at home DC have won three of their last five, losing the other two.

DC have won five of their seven home MLS games this season, losing the other too, scoring 12 and conceding just four. Montreal have won just two away games all season, drawing two and losing five, scoring eight and conceding 11. DC haven’t beaten Montreal at home since 2018 but they have the far better form coming into this clash and we think they should be good for the three points here.
