Saturday’s football Acca has a bit more of a familiar look about it. We’ll be taking a look at the first EFL Cup fixture of the season where Bournemouth welcome MK Dons to the Vitality Stadium, then we’re off to Scotland for Dundee’s Premiership opener against St Mirren.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

Then to Europe for a Moscow derby, Germany for a Bundesliga II clash between Dusseldorf and Werder and finally to the MLS where Eastern Conference leaders New England Revolution are away to New York Red Bulls.

The below picks in a Paddy Power acca will give you odds of around 21/1. CLICK HERE TO ADD IT TO YOUR BETSLIP.

3pm: Bournemouth vs MK Dons: Bournemouth to Win

Bournemouth and MK Dons begin their season with an EFL Cup match. The home side, being a division higher than MK Dons of course, come into the game as obvious favourites. Between both sides they only played a total of five preseason friendlies, Bournemouth winning two of their three, MK Dons losing both of theirs.

Bournemouth in the League Cup have a very impressive home record, being unbeaten at home in all of their seven most recent games. Hard then to see anything other than a Cherries victory here, especially since MK Dons have only two losses under their belts as preparation. This has Home Win written all over it.

3pm: Dundee FC vs St Mirren: Both Teams to Score

Both teams began their season earlier in the month in the League Cup and both have won all four of their respective fixtures. Dundee kept three clean sheets over their four matches, scoring 14 and conceding just two.

St Mirren have also kept three clean sheets, scoring nine and conceding just one. With both teams then in such fine goal-scoring form and this being the league opener they should be going at it with the proverbial hammers and tongs. Both Teams to Score has the value here.

6pm: CSKA Moscow vs Lokomotiv Moscow: Under 2.5 Goals

Since 2018 these two sides have met a total of eight times in all competitions with CSKA winning just one of those games. Lokomotiv won five with two ended level with CSKA winning another in extra time. Looking at games played at Arena CSKA though, the home side have won two of their last five league meetings with Lokomotiv winning the other three. There’s not much league form to go on as the season only began last week, both teams did win their opening games though, CSKA beating Ufa 1-0 at home while Lokomotiv beat Tula 3-1 at home.

CSKA Moscow

These are usually very tight games with only one of those previous eight games mentioned above seeing Over 2.5 goals and only two of the last five played at CSKA’s home ground seeing Overs landing. With those stats and a healthy rivalry building between these sides we think we’re in for another tight affair here. Unders has the value.

7.30pm: Dusseldorf vs Werder Bremen: BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals

Since 2018 these sides have met a total of four times with both teams winning two games each. Both Teams to Score landed in three of those games with Over 2.5 goals occurring in three and Over 3.5 goals also occurring in three. Looking at Dusseldorf’s five most recent home Bundesliga II games, Over 2.5 goals landed in four of them. In Werder’s last five Bundesliga games prior to relegation, Overs landed in just two while BTTS occurred in just two as well.

Both teams have some decent firepower in their ranks and the odds would certainly indicate that we should see both teams getting on the scoresheet here. With the high propensity of Over 2.5 goals occurring in home Dusseldorf games and with Werder having scored an incredible 27 away goals over their preseason friendlies we’re really liking the odds over BTTS and Overs here.

11pm: New York Red Bulls vs New England: BTTS No Draw

Eastern Conference leaders New England Revolution have won three of their last five on the road, drawing one and losing one, scoring a very healthy 12 goals over those five games, keeping two clean sheets. Red Bulls are in great home form though, they’re unbeaten over their last five at home, winning four and drawing one, scoring nine, conceding just two. New England haven’t beaten the Red Bulls away from home since back in 2014, a run of six league games where they’ve lost all but one of them.

Both teams are in great form this time though and it’s tough to separate them. Will we see a Draw then? Unlikely. Of their combined 30 fixtures over the league this season only six have ended level. Both are certainly good enough to beat the other and in similarly good form to do so too. BTTS No Draw is where our money is going here.
