For Friday’s footballing action we’ll be swinging by Germany’s Bundesliga II which got off to a roaring start last weekend. We’ll also be taking a look at a Dublin derby between Shamrock Rovers and St Pat’s and finally to the MLS where fifth and sixth in the Eastern Conference New York City and Columbus Crew face off against each other. Let’s have a look then at where we’ve found some value bets.

The below picks in a Paddy Power acca will give you odds of around 40/1. CLICK HERE TO ADD IT TO YOUR BETSLIP.

17.30: Karlsruher v Darmstadt – Both Teams to Score No Draw

Karlsruher began their season last weekend with a 1-3 win on the road against Hansa Rostock. Darmstadt however, even though playing at home, were 0-2 losers to Jahn Regensburg. The sides met in the league last season with both teams winning one game each but the next previous meetings are back in 2015 which is a little too far back to compare results.

Karlsruher finished the 2020-21 campaign winning just one of their last five home games, drawing three and losing one. Darmstadt won four of their last five on their travels last season, drawing the other one. Interestingly, Both Teams to Score landed in nine out of Darmstadt’s last 10 away league games. Karlsruher’s home scoring record towards the end of the season was nothing short of terrible. They only managed to score in four of their last 10 games on home soil.

However, they put three past Hansa last weekend and scored a decent amount of goals over their preseason friendlies. Karlsruher only recorded six home draws last season from 17 home games while Darmstadt only registered three in their away games, with those stats we’re liking the odds on BTTS No Draw here.

17.30: Paderborn vs Nurnberg – BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals

Both Paderborn and Nurnberg could only manage 0-0 draws in their opening league games. Much like the above game, these sides have also only met twice over the last few seasons with Nurnberg winning both. Last season they shared the same record over their final five home/away games, winning two, drawing two and losing one. Paderborn’s scoring record was superior though, scoring 11 to Nurnberg’s eight.

In 71 per cent of Paderborn’s home league games Both Teams to Score landed, and it also occurred in 65 per cent of Nurnberg’s away league games. Over 2.5 goals landed in all five of Paderborn’s closing home games last season and in three of Nurnberg’s final five away games. With those records combining two bets into one looks like the best way to go here. Our pick then is BTTS and Over 2.5 Goals.

20.00: Shamrock Rovers v St Pats – Draw

It’s neck and neck between the top two in Ireland’s Premier Division, both are level on 41 one with Rovers having a game in hand over their Dublin rivals. Rovers’ league form of late has seen them win three of their last five and draw and lose one each. St Pat’s share the same record.

At home though things aren’t so rosy for Rovers. They’ve only won one of their last five, drawing three and losing one while St Pat’s have also only won one, drawing two and losing two. All three of their most recent league meetings at Tallaght Stadium have ended level with Rovers winning both matches prior to those three. These games tend to be tight affairs, only six goals were scored over those five matches, and with the number of stalemates both teams have been seeing lately we think we’re getting a decent price to go with the Draw.

Saturday 00.30: New York City v Columbus Crew – New York City to Win to Nil

Just one point separates these sides in the Eastern Conference side of the table with Columbus on 24 points to New York’s 23, but New York have a game in hand. New York are odds-on favourites to win here largely thanks to having won all four of their most recent home MLS fixtures. Columbus’ recent record is pretty good too though, they’re unbeaten over their last six MLS games and their away form has seen them win two, draw two and lose one over their last five on their travels.

In the last five league meetings at Yankee Stadium, New York have won four with Columbus just the once, and the Crew have failed to score in any of those four losses. No doubt this has swung the market into heavily backing the home side. New York’s record of clean sheets in this fixture, matched with three shutouts at home over their last five, as well as Columbus drawing a blank in two of their last five away games means we have to take a nibble on New York to Win to Nil.

17.30: Paderborn vs Nurnberg – BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals
20.00: Shamrock Rovers v St Pats – Draw
