Football Accumulator Tips: Thursday’s juicy 10/1 acca from the Uefa Conference League

Our top tipster Andrew Cunneen has been busy studying his atlas as the British and Irish minnows get down to action.

Over the course of time, many broadcasters, media houses and publishers have aimed to capture the ‘hidden gems’ of the planet we’re on. Usually, they open with some drone footage flying over the highest point in a city, or speak about a historical event they feel is niche, but has been parodied in some Netflix series that too many people have seen.

The list usually consists of some alternative to Lake Bled, a recently-liberated post-Soviet nation with low GDP and a hot spot for fake religious ceremonies. But why wade through all that nonsense when you could simply watch the qualifiers for the UEFA Europa Conference?

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

I can guarantee you that a pint in most of these countries comes between the value of a firm handshake and the equivalent of two bob – and what’s more, you probably won’t run into your ex’s father vlogging for his mates in their WhatsApp group. Luckily for you, I’ve been in more countries than Special Branch, so I can guide you through the dangers of punting familiar names playing down dodgy lanes somewhere on the continent.

There’s plenty of British and Irish sides playing on Thursday night – so here’s a fivefold.

You can get the below five selections straight into your Paddy Power betslip by CLICKING HERE TO PLACE THE BET.

17.30: Dudelange v Bohemians – Dudelange and the Draw

I know I punted against Bohs in the last round and it blew up in my face, but I’ve considerably more confidence in opposing them here. Yes, Dawson Devoy has both a great name and a bright future, but these aren’t the same Dudelange that nearly got rolled by UCD all them years ago. There’s too much glancing at the coefficients here I think.

Dudelange were in the group stages of the Europa League not two years ago. They netted twice against Sevilla and hit four away to APOEL. They’ve since lost some players, but their scouting department and experience makes them a good price here.

19.30: Larne v AGF – AGF to Win

Aarhus – in the middle of our street – Aarhus! It’s the best football song on the planet that doesn’t get sung and for once, I think a manager should be calling for supporters to be sacked.

In all seriousness, the Danish outfit are a classy outfit, finishing ahead of Copenhagen last year and just seven points off the top in one of the fastest-rising domestic leagues in Europe. I know Larne have injected money but they’d want to be injecting more than that to get anything from this.

19.45: Linfield v Borac Banja Luka – Linfield and the Draw

I understand the formline in this is that BBL (I’m not writing that again) brought Cluj to extra-time, but you cannot for one second tell me the prices on offer here accurately reflect the squads. Now, I understand that sides south of the border benefit from being mid-season and that luxury isn’t afforded here but I’d be very confident in saying that Linfield won’t be beaten at home in this tie – and getting odds-against about that shout is something I can’t pass up.

19.45: Aberdeen v Hacken – Under 2.5 Goals

Hacken have not made the brightest of starts to the Allsvenskan this year and them being the price they are is completely merited, even with Aberdeen themselves appearing well off the pace of the SPL race-for-third antepost. But more so than anything else, Scott Brown knows a thing or two about surviving European nights and keeping it compact when you need to.

His influence on Aberdeen here should see them being hard to break down and while the visitors might have the technical edge, you feel that both sides’ lack of goals should be enough to have them settle for the tie going back to Sweden open-ended.

20.00: Dundalk v Levadia Tallinn – Dundalk to Win

I know both of these sides were in much better shape when they last met in Europe a few years back, but the falls from grace have been relatively equal. Dundalk are nowhere near a title race in Ireland and Levadia were miles off Flora in Estonia’s top flight last year. But the Dundalk trouble seems to be related to off-field stuff as much as on it, while Levadia’s decline is largely down to budgetary issues.

When in doubt, back the side best equipped with experience in Europe.
