The second pair of Copa America quarter finals are taking place on Saturday night. Both Uruguay and Colombia were somewhat underwhelming in the group stages, Uruguay have improved as the tournament has progressed though, and the market is on their side here.

Argentina qualified with three wins and a draw, they face an Ecuador side who scraped through with three draws. They could well be in for a tough match against Messi & Co.

Saturday 23:00 Uruguay v Colombia: Uruguay to Win and Both Teams To Score

Uruguay had a terrible start to their tournament, losing 1-0 to Argentina and drawing 1-1 with Chile. For a while there it was looking like they might not even qualify for the knockout stage. However, they’ve been able to pull it together and over their final two matches beat Bolivia and Paraguay to advance.

Colombia started off with a win over Ecuador and then drew with Venezuela before losing their two final group games against Peru and Brazil. The silver lining though is that they at least scored in both of those losses.

Over the last seven years these sides have met a total of four times, Uruguay won two, Colombia won one and the other ended level. Over 2.5 goals was witnessed in three of those games, but Both Teams To Score only landed once. That would help explain why the odds on Both Teams To Score are looking a little high for two teams that should be full of goals.

We can exploit the price a little further too. Both teams are, at least, in decent goal-scoring form now and with so much on the line, it’s hard not to see both going for it here. Colombia, in particular, have been clinical in front of goal, they only registered six shots on goal over their last two matches, but still came away with a goal in each match.

With Uruguay boasting a front line of Edison Cavani and Luis Suarez as well as and them hitting form over their last two matches, we’re going with some big odds here. We’re backing Uruguay to win and for Colombia to get at least one as well.

Sunday 02:00 Argentina v Ecuador: Argentina to Win and Both Teams To Score

Argentina tango with Ecuador later in the night, and they really should waltz it. Over the last six years these sides have met five times with Argentina winning four and Ecuador winning one. The Argentinians are in great form and have now gone 17 matches without defeat. Over their five most recent games they’ve won three and drawn two.

Ecuador were the second to last team in Group B, just about making it over the line with three draws and over their five more recent games they have drawn three and lost two. They’ve been decent in front of goal though it must be said, scoring five over their last three matches, but conceding five as well.

Over those five games mentioned above, Argentina were only able to keep one clean sheet and looking at recent matches, Both Teams To Score has landed in six of their last 10. Meanwhile, for Ecuador Both Teams To Score has landed in eight of their last 10.

With those stats the odds for Both Teams To Score are tempting but we can add some extra spice to it by adding Argentina to be victorious. They’re in fine fettle and should have more than enough to come out on top here over the 90 minutes.
