We’ve made it. The last 16 is upon us and we have the incredibly-impressive Italy facing off against an Austrian side who managed two wins from three in their group overcoming North Macedonia (3-1) and Ukraine (1-0).

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

However, they were not up to the challenge posed to them by the Netherlands and the “mighty” (and I use that term in the loosest possible sense) Frank de Boer. Will Italy maintain their run of not conceding a goal? I most certainly think so. Now, let’s take a look at where the value lies for this game.

Italy to Win

I can see Italy winning this from a mile away. They are looking fantastic so far in the competition. They’re disciplined defensively and boast an attack that would make poor Harry Kane jealous. Manuel Locatelli is looking better and better with each game and is finding the form that he had as a youngster at AC Milan.

Over 2.5 Goals

If there’s one thing Italy haven’t struggled with it’s scoring goals. They’ve dashed the clean sheet dreams of every goalkeeper that they’ve faced so far in the competition, something I can see them continuing to do in this game. I think they’ll get a few so Over 2.5 Goals is a good play.

Dominico Berardi Anytime Assist

Dominico Berardi has two assists in two appearances. Italy are a well-oiled machine who’ve outperformed expectations at the Euros so far and boy have they had fun doing it. Expect Berardi to make an impact with an assist at the earliest possible opportunity.

Ciro Immobile to have 3 or more shots

Ciro Immobile is tied for the fourth-most attempts at the tournament so far (10) but has only hit the target on three occasions. He gets shots away, but doesn’t need to find the target to fall into your Bet Builder. As the old saying goes, even a broken clock is right twice a day, which is still statistically more times than Ciro Immobile is over 90 minutes. Still, we can back Immobile to Have 3 or More Shots.

Italy to have 5 or more shots on target

Italy to have 5 or more shots on target is self-explanatory. We’ve seen the flying form the Azzurri are in and we can expect an absolute hellish evening for Watford’s Daniel Bachmann in the Austria goal. Roberto Mancini’s men should pick apart David Alaba’s defence and create opportunity after opportunity.

Under 3.5 Cards

Both sides are extremely well-disciplined, picking up a total of five yellow cards combined across the entire group stage. Expect a good clean free-flowing game without too much time spent staring at Anthony Taylor’s notebook. If you’re feeling really good about this one, you could even go under 2.5. But, for my Bet Builder, I’m going for Under 3.5 Cards.
