NEW TO PADDY POWER?

Wednesday 5pm: Slovakia v Spain

I think this will be an interesting game and I’m just hesitant to back Spain at such a short price in a game where they’ll be under huge pressure to win after a disappointing start to the European Championships. Slovakia have obvious limitations but they are obturate defensively and they possess a world class centre half in Inter Milan’s Milan Skriniar and a solid goalkeeper in Newcastle’s Martin Dubravka.

While Spain are the definite likely winners, I can see Slovakia holding them out for long periods so the bet I like here is Half Time Score 0-0. That will clearly be Slovakia’s game plan and we’ve seen Spain struggle in front of goal so far. Even if Spain do win I think Slovakia will keep them at bay for 45 minutes. And, even if you’re feeling a bit braver, you might even back No Goalscorer.

Wednesday 5pm: Sweden v Poland

Poland have been very disappointing but you could argue that they were unlucky with the red card against Slovakia. But overall they have been a little bit disappointing and I do fancy Sweden here. Sweden were my outsiders for the tournament and they haven’t been brilliant so far but they do have Dejan Kulusevski of Juventus due to come back into the team who’s been absent due to contracting Covid 19 before the tournament.

I just think it’s set up quite well for Sweden with Poland having to push numbers forward in search of the win. Sweden look dangerous on the counter attack with their young striker Alexander Isak who’s been one of the standout young players so far. I like Sweden to Win here.

Wednesday 8pm: Germany v Hungary

I think Hungary have been one of the surprise packages of the tournament in that they were very competitive against Portugal and holding world champions and tournament favourites France to a draw. Both of those matches came at their home stadium and they were roared on by full-house crowds. This game will take place at the Allainz Arena in Munich.

Wednesday 8pm: Germany v Hungary
BBC Two and BBC iPlayer

Given Germany’s last performance I think it’s very hard to see Hungary getting a result here but Germany at such a short price don’t make much appeal. I’m looking at the goal scorer markets for a bet here and I like Kai Havertz to Score Anytime against Hungary. He was in superb form against Portugal and is continuing on where he left off when he was one of Chelsea’s best players in the Champions League final. I can see Germany dominating things here and I can see Havertz getting plenty of chances to convert.
