It’s crunch time in Group D tonight with Scotland and Croatia both needing a win to progress to the knockout stages. Both sides have one point from their two games and are effectively playing knockout football today as they strive to make 3rd place.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

Someone’s going to miss out but tipping sensation Andy Robson returns to help you win some cash with another belting Bet Builder. So, with everything on the line, here’s a 10/1 tempter for tonight.

Che Adams to have 1 or more shots on target

Che Adams really impressed me against England (as did the entirety of the starting XI) and he will be important versus Croatia too. He managed five shots against that mob on Friday and, truth be told, I can see him racking up similar numbers against Croatia with this one being a must win if we’re to fulfil our destiny and win Euro 2020. Che Adams to have 1 or more shots on target kicks off my Bet Builder.

Ivan Perisic to have 1 or more shots on target

Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic has looked dangerous playing in a more advanced role for Croatia than he does for his club side and will likely be at the heart of most of his nation’s chances at Hampden. His goal against Czech Republic was magnificent and the sign of a top player. He averages 0.89 shots on target per 90 for his country and, with Croatia desperate to win, I think their winger could be encouraged to try as many strikes as possible. Ivan Perisic to have 1 or more shots on target feels a good play.

John McGinn to be Booked

I adore John McGinn but he does love a foul and coming up against Luka Modric and Mateo Kovacic makes him a prime suspect to find his way into the referee’s notebook. He commits over two fouls a game for his country and was similarly dirty for Villa in the Premier League last season, picking up a league high 12 yellows. Don’t be surprised to see John McGinn get Booked here.

Over 3.5 Match Cards

The referee for the crunch match hails all the way from Argentina and Fernando Rapallini is no stranger to dishing out the cards. He averaged a whopping 6.81 yellow cards per game last season in the Argentinian top flight, none of the other refs at the tournament come close to those stats. It’s also likely to be a feisty tie with so much on the line between two sides with sub-par disciplinary records, which could be the perfect storm for a cards fest. Over 3.5 Match Cards is my final play.
