Wales will all-but secure a place in the knockouts if they beat Turkey in their second Group A match in Baku, Azerbaijan on Wednesday.

After Kieffer Moore rescued a draw against Switzerland last weekend, Rob Page’s boyos will move to four points and give themselves a bit of breathing space if they see off a Turkey side who put up a limp showing against Italy in Friday night’s tournament opener.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

Tuesday 17:00 – Turkey v Wales
BBC/ RTE

With Italy to come away in Rome next week, Wales know this is their chance. For Turkey, a big improvement is expected after such a dismal display at the Olimpico on Friday.

We’ve analysed Andy Robson’s latest cheat sheet ahead of the game and come with a tasty looking four-fold Bet Builder below.

Burak Yilmaz Shot On Target

The ageing yet decisive Lille frontman did look a bit isolated against the equally experienced Italy central defensive pairing of Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini in the opening game of the tournament, but he should have an easier time of it against a far inferior Welsh backline. He averaged exactly a SOT per 90 in the build-up to this tournament, as well as even better numbers (1.18 SOT/per 90) for his club side.

Gareth Bale Shot On Target

Wales. Golf. Shots On Target. In that order. Though he didn’t produce his best against Switzerland, Gareth Bale is still deadly and prone to a strike from pretty much anywhere on the park. He racked up 1.57 shots on target over qualifying and the Nations League and given Wales should see this as a chance at three points and probable progression through to the Last 16, Bale will likely be on the ball a lot in the final third which can only be good news for this selection.

Joe Allen Carded

Joe Allen, despite looking like butter wouldn’t melt, is far from a saint and is, in fact, a consistent fouler. He racked up an average of just under two fouls a game for his nation ahead of Euro 2020 and he’ll likely have to deal with Hakan Calhanoglu in this one, a tough task that could lead to him finding his way into the referee’s notebook.

Over 2.5 Wales Corners

This has landed in seven of Wales last 10 games, including their draw with Switzerland, with Rob Page’s men keen to exploit set-pieces. They’ve got the lanky Kieffer Moore and some towering defenders to aim at so corners can be vital to Wales’ Euro 2020 progression, as we saw with Moore’s goal against the Swiss on Saturday.
