For Sunday’s football Acca we have a few really intriguing matches on the cards. First up we have the League One Promotion Playoff between Blackpool and Lincoln City with the winner moving up to the Championship.

We’re off to Portugal then for the second leg of the Primeira Liga relegation/promotion. Switzerland are taking on the USA in their first warm-up match in preparation for the Euros. And finally we’ll be taking a look at MLS Western Conference leaders Seattle Sounders who are hosting the new kid in town, Austin FC.
Sunday 3pm: Blackpool vs Lincoln City: Blackpool to Win
Blackpool were 6-3 winners over Oxford United in their semi-final while Lincoln were 3-2 winners over Sunderland over their two games. Blackpool have the superior form here though it must be said. The Seasiders have only lost two of their last 24 games in all competitions and have won five of their last six, drawing the other. Lincoln’s form isn’t nearly as good, they’ve only won two of their last seven fixtures and of their last five they’ve won one, drawn two and lost two.
Over the last four meetings between the sides, Lincoln have won two, Blackpool one and one ended level. Over 2.5 goals and Both Teams to Score landed in three. Blackpool’s defence of late has been outstanding, keeping five clean sheets over their last six matches and Lincoln have only scored seven over their last five games. The Tangerines are the form side here and we’re getting good odds on Blackpool to win over 90 minutes.
Sunday 7pm: Rio Ave vs Arouca: Both Teams to Score
Segunda Liga side Arouca made a show of their Primeria Liga opponents in the first leg and have one foot in the Primeira Liga now thanks to beating them 0-3 on Wednesday night. The markets are making the home side favourites here but their form is awful, winning just one of their last five games, losing the other four.
Arouca have won all 10 of their last matches. No doubt the home side will throw the proverbial sink at them here but the away side have only been kept scoreless in three of their last 20 games. Both Teams to Score has great value here.
Sunday 7.15pm: Switzerland vs USA: Both Teams to Score
Both sides come into this match in robust form, Switzerland have won four of their last five games, drawing the other one while the US have won all five of theirs. Indeed, they’ve won eight of their last nine, drawing the other one. The market has made the home side the favourites here and even though the US has an impressive win streak going they’ve been playing the likes of Trinidad, Jamaica and El Salvador.
This being a friendly there’s not going to be much pressure on either side and really it’s an excuse for Swiss manager Vladimir Petkovic to tinker around with his side before the Euros begin. Both teams are in good scoring form and it’s tough to pick a winner knowing there’s nothing on the line here. Both Teams to Score is, again, the safest option.
Monday 2.30am: Seattle vs Austin: Seattle to Win to Nil
Seattle Sounders are unbeaten so far this season with five wins and two draws over their seven games and even more impressively, they’ve only conceded three goals over those matches, scoring 14. Austin have won two of their six matches, losing the other four. At home, Seattle have only lost one of their last 15 on home soil. Austin don’t have many games under their belt, they were only founded in 2018 and have so far played a grand total 12 matches, six of which were friendlies.
They’ve only scored one goal over their last three matches as well, Seattle have six over their last three at home. There’s absolutely nothing here to even suggest an upset and indeed, Seattle have kept three clean sheets over their last four at Lumen Field. Against a side struggling for goals we’re going with Seattle to Win to Nil here.
