Saturday sees the final act of both the German Bundesliga and Spain’s La Liga. Bayern have already won the title but can Robert Lewandowski break Gerd Muller’s 40 goal record? In Spain it’s down to the final day where either of the Madrid teams can still win the title.

Finally, we’ll also be taking a look at the second leg of the Championship Playoff semi-final between Swansea and Barnsley with the Swans 1-0 up from the first leg.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

2.30pm: Bayern v Augsburg: Lewandowski to Score 2 or More

We have a Bavarian derby to end the season,  but after wrapping up their Bundesliga title a few weeks ago it doesn’t seem like there’s much to play for. Augsburg are safely nestled in mid-table and this match is all about whether Lewandowski can break Gerd Muller’s record of 40 league goals in a season.

The Pole scored an early penalty last weekend away to Freiburg which saw him go level with the record and with him having 11 Bundesliga goals over his last four home matches it looks like a done deal for him to break the record here. To date he’s faced Augsburg on 16 occasions over his career, scoring a grand total of 20 goals.

He’s in such good form we’re backing Lewandowski to Score 2 or More Goals. Bayern will also have home fans at the stadium for the first time since the you-know-what started and they’ll be cheering their captain on to break the 49-year-old record.

5pm: Real Madrid vs Villarreal: Real to Win & BTTS

Real Madrid must win their match and pray that Atletico lose away to Valladolid at the same time. It may seem unlikely, but they still have to do a job here and they should come out on top at full-time. Real have lost just one of their last 14 at home, winning 10 and drawing three. Over their five most previous at home they’ve won three and drawn two.

Villarreal are decent on the road and if they could get something positive here they should make it into the Europa League rather than the Conference, although they could yet qualify for the Champions League if they beat Manchester United on Wednesday night.

Unai Emery’s side have won four of their last five on their league travels, losing the other one, and with a goals average of 1.67 per away game, plus the fact they’ve scored in seven of their last eight visits to Real, we can see them getting at least one here. Real should win though and we’re getting a good price on Real to Win & Both Teams to Score.

5pm: Valladolid vs Atletico Madrid: Atletico to Win to Nil

Valladolid can potentially save their La Liga skins with a win, however they’re going to need other results to go their way and, in facing a team with the stingiest defence in football, it’s unlikely they can avoid relegation. Atletico have been conceding just 0.72 goals per away games this season – the league average is 1.38 – and Valladolid are scoring just 1.0 goals per home match.

The home side have won none of their last five in the league, drawing two and losing three while Atletico have won three, drawn one and lost one. Atletico’s away record isn’t great with one win, two draws and two losses but the home side have drawn three and lost two of their last five at home.

This could well be a tense affair with both needing to win for very different reasons but Atletico’s guile and experience should see them take all three points. They’ve conceded just 13 goals all season away from home in La Liga. We fancy the odds here for Atletico to Win to Nil yet again and take the La Liga title.

6.30pm: Swansea vs Barnsley: Both Teams to Score

Swansea take a one-goal advantage into the second leg of their Championship Playoff. Barnsley were unlucky, really unlucky not to get on the scoresheet in the first leg. They were great in possession and finding gaps in play to set up opportunities but Swansea’s defence stood firm and goalkeeper Freddie Woodman was outstanding.

The Swans’ home record isn’t great of late. They’ve won just one of their last five, drawing one and losing three and they have only kept two clean sheets over their last 10 at home. Barnsley have won three of their last five on the road, losing the other two. While a goal advantage isn’t to be sniffed at, all it takes is one from Barnsley and they’re back in it. We’re going with Both Teams to Score.
