For Friday night’s football acca we’ll be taking a look at the second leg of the Scottish Championship playoff between Morton and Airdrieonians with the home side holding a 1-0 lead. In England, Blackpool take a 3-0 lead into the second leg of their League One semi-final against Oxford.

Across the water in Ireland, league leaders Shamrock Rovers travel to Dundalk and finally to La Liga where Cadiz and Levante bring down the curtain on their La Liga season. Let’s have a dig then for some value in the markets.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

19:35: Morton v Airdrieonians – Airdrieonians or Draw

Even though Morton won the first leg of this tie on Tuesday night they’re not in the best of shape. They needed an extra-time goal to scrape past Montrose in the semi-final, winning 4-3 on aggregate. They’ve only won one of their last seven matches in normal time. If we ignore these playoff matches they’ve only won three of their last 10 in the league. Their home record is even worse where they’ve won just one of their last 10 at Cappielow Park and have only scored in five of their last 10 at home as well. Airdrieonians’ overall record is quite good, they’ve won three of their last six, drawing two (winning one in ET) and losing one.

Away from home they’ve won two and drawn two of their last five, losing the other and really the value here is with the Diamonds with their superior record. As said above Morton have only won one of their last 10 at home, four were losses, five were draws. We can take out some insurance here and back the away side on the Double Chance.

19:45: Blackpool v Oxford – Blackpool to Win

Blackpool are enjoying a mighty run of form of late, losing just two of their last 23 matches in all competitions and with them being 3-0 up from the first leg it’s hard not to see them making the final to face either Sunderland or Lincoln. Oxford’s form is quite good too though, they’ve won six of their last nine, losing the other three.

Blackpool’s home record is strong too, they’ve won four of their last six, drawing and losing one apiece and conceding just two goals over those six matches. Oxford have only won two of their last six on their travels, losing the other four and while their away goals average is good at 1.67 Blackpool’s home record and having one foot already in the final should see them coming out on top here.

19:45: Dundalk v Shamrock Rovers – Shamrock Rovers to Win

Dundalk have been having a horrible time of it this season, winning just two of their 11 league games so far. Rovers on the other hand are storming the league and are yet to taste defeat. Comparing the usual starting XI, Dundalk would normally swing it for most people here but off-field goings on as well as a run of terrible results means they’re a side low on confidence facing a team that are absolutely buzzing.

Rovers have won four of their last five on the road this season, drawing the other and keeping three clean sheets. Dundalk have won just one of their last five, drawing one and losing three, failing to score in three of them. We could go a bit riskier and go Rovers to Win to Nil but over their last seven meetings here only one ended in a Both Teams to Score: No. We’re going with Shamrock Rovers to keep their fine run of results going here.

20:00: Levante v Cadiz – Cadiz or Draw

Levante and Cadiz can bring what has been a difficult season for both teams to a close here on Friday. The home side are in awful form and were it not for the fact we’ve run out of games here they probably would have made the drop if there were, say, five more games to go rather than just one. Anyway, they’ve won just one of their last 10 in La Liga. At home they’ve also won just one of their last 10, drawing five and losing four.

Cadiz’s record is better with four wins over their last nine, drawing two and losing three. Away from home things aren’t too bad with two wins, three draws and two losses over their last seven on the road. The value’s with the away side again here but with the amount of draws both sides have seen of late, let’s cover ourselves a bit and go Cadiz Double Chance.
