For Thursday’s acca we’re taking a look at a few playoff matches in the UK where Tranmere take on Morecambe in England’s League Two and Dumbarton host Edinburgh City in their Scottish League One relegation playoff second-leg leading 3-1 from the first tie.

We’ll also be looking at the title race in Belgium where two of the biggest names in the country are in action before heading back to Scotland where Dundee take on Kilmarnock with the loser over two legs playing Championship football next season. Let’s find some value!

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

6pm: Tranmere vs Morecambe: HT Draw

TV: Sky Sports Football

Both teams come into this match in relatively good form, although Morecambe are looking the better of late. The home side have won two of their last five league games, drawing two and losing one. Morecambe have won four of their last five, losing the other. At home, Tranmere’s form isn’t as good where they’ve won just one of their last five, drawing all of the other four, and only scoring three goals over those games. Morecambe have won three of their last five away from home, scoring seven and conceding just three.

Both teams could never be accused of fast starts, Tranmere have drawn the first half in 13 of their 23 home games, scoring 17 goals, while Morcambe have only scored 13 before the break over their 23 away League Two games. We’ve got to go with the HT Draw with those stats.

7.35pm: Dumbarton vs Edinburgh City: Dumbarton to Win & BTTS

Dumbarton are 3-1 up from the first leg and it looks from here like they’ll be playing League One football again next season. Edinburgh City had come into the previous match in the better form of the two teams but fell flat in the second half where Dumbarton scored all three of their goals.

The home side have won four of their last five at the Rock, losing the other, while Edinburgh have won three and lost two of their last five on their travels. There’s a decent amount of goals in this side, they’ve netted 10 over their last seven away from home but Dumbarton’s home form against superior opposition should see them weather any storm here. Decent value to be had in going with the home side and Both Teams to Score here.

8pm: Anderlecht vs Club Brugge: Both Teams to Score

Anderlecht are playing for two things here; qualification for the Champions League, albeit the qualification phase and, stopping Brugge from winning their fifth title over the last 10 years. Brugge could win the title with a draw, although they’d need other results to go their way. Should they win then the title will be theirs.

Over the last few seasons, Brugge have won six of the last eight home/away meetings, with one ending level. Anderlecht have won just one. In matches played at Lotto Park, Anderlecht have only won one of the last five, Brugge have won three, one ended as a draw. You’d be forgiven for going with Brugge here but their away form isn’t great, they’ve only won two of their last six on their league travels. They’re usually good for a goal though, scoring in 10 of their last 12 on the road. Anderlecht have scored at least one in nine of their last 12 at home. We’re playing it safe here and going with Both Teams to Score.

8.15pm: Dundee vs Kilmarnock: Dundee or Draw

TV: Sky Sports Football

Kilmarnock are favourites coming into the first leg of this Premiership playoff. The away side finished second-bottom over the league season while Dundee finished as runners-up behind Hearts in the Championship. The home side have won three of their last five, drawing one and losing one. At home in the league, Dundee have won three of their last five, drawing one and losing one. Kilmarnock have won two of their last five, drawing two and losing one. Away from home, they’ve lost four of their last five, winning the other one.

Kilmarnock’s away form is awful and they’ve only won two of their last 13 on the road, they’re favourites here largely thanks to being in the higher league but Dundee have lost just two home league games all season. We’re going with the home side on the Double Chance here.
