Paddy’s football ambassador Phil Thompson is looking forward to the Friday night lights as Leicester host Newcastle in the Premier League. The Toon have a woeful away record but Leicester haven’t exactly set the world alight on home turf this term.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

The Foxes are looking good for a Champions League spot and they will be targeting three points to take another step back towards the big time. Thommo’s backing them to do it and he’s served up four blinding best bets for Friday night’s feast of football.

Friday 8pm: Leicester v Newcastle

Newcastle have not been bad of late and it looks like all their relegation fears now have gone. They’re nine points clear of the drop zone, and I think it was four unbeaten before they came unstuck against Arsenal last week which I actually thought Newcastle would win.

Newcastle are unbeaten in their last two away games but lack firepower. Bottom side Sheffield United have only scored seven away, but Newcastle aren’t faring much better with only 14 on the road. It doesn’t bode well.

As you can imagine, Leicester are going to be hot favourites and I am going to go with them. Maybe there’s a bit of value in Leicester to Win to Nil. I can’t see Newcastle scoring.

Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League

Leicester are five points clear in the Champions League spots and they’re unbeaten in three league games. We know last year they fell away just at this point. Maybe that will help them now?

They’ve won 20 points from losing positions, Leicester. There’s only Manchester United who are better than that so if they were to go behind – and I don’t expect them to concede anyway – it should be a good watch.

But, listen to this, seven of their nine defeats this season have been at the King Power so that’s a little bit of a worry for them. Kelechi Iheanacho is on a fantastic streak with 12 goals in the last 10 games.

THOMMO’S TIPS: I am going for a 2-0 victory for Leicester with Kelechi Iheanacho to Score Anytime. I think there’s value in Leicester to Win to Nil as well. I’m also going for Jamie Vardy to Score Anytime as well, I think there could be a penalty in there that he can take advantage of.

Thommo’s tips

Leicester to Win to Nil
Leicester to Win 2-0
Kelechi Iheanacho to Score Anytime
Jamie Vardy to Score Anytime
