NEW TO PADDY POWER?

Barnsley v Rotherham – Barnsley to Win

There’s plenty on the line in this clash with 6th-placed Barnsley looking to wrap up a playoff spot and Rotherham in 22nd fighting to keep their chances of staying in the Championship alive. A win for The Tykes would see them at least six points clear of Reading in 7th with just two games to go.

If they win and The Royals don’t they’ll be safely into the playoffs with two games to spare. Down at the other end it’s a strange landscape as Rotherham have two games in hand on everyone around them and a four-point deficit to make up on Derby who sit just outside the drop zone in 21st.

However, Rotherham’s recent form hasn’t been good and they’ve squandered two of their games in hand already. And while the pressure is ramping up there’s no indication they’ve got enough about them to see off their hosts on Saturday who will be desperate for the three points as well. Our first leg has to be Barnsley to Win.

QPR v Norwich – Norwich to Win

Norwich have already secured promotion back to the top flight and, at first glance, you’d probably say they’ve been celebrating that achievement a little too hard. However, they’ve lost their last two to Watford and Bournemouth who are both excellent sides with plenty to play for.

It should be smoother sailing here against 8th-placed QPR who have been on the beach for a little while. They’ve still been getting some decent results, though.

But with two losses shaking the fog from The Canaries’ post-party heads we can expect them to get back to winning ways here with a Norwich Win which would put them within touching grasp of the title which has looked sewn up for so long.

Lincoln v Hull – Over 2.5 Goals

This is a really juicy clash with two in-form teams at the top of League One going at it. League leaders Hull make the short trip down the A15 to Lincoln looking to keep the revs up on their title bid. They’re four points clear of Peterborough in second but the Posh have a game in hand.

This is must-win for Hull but Lincoln will see it exactly the same as they look to seal a playoff place. The Imps are 4th, seven points clear of Oxford in 7th. However, Lincoln still have five games left and will be desperate to capitalise if Peterborough, who are seven points clear of them, implode.

With both in decent nick it’s hard to call, but instead we’ll go with Over 2.5 Goals here. It’s landed in three of Lincoln’s last five and all of Hull’s games over that period. Hull fans have witnessed 16 goals in those games, an average of 3.2.

For Lincoln it’s slightly fewer with 13 goals but that’s still averaging just over the magic 2.5 number we’re looking for here. Both team’s average combined comes to 2.9 goals per game and at decent odds this could be a smart play.

Cambridge v Stevenage – Cambridge to Win

Both Cambridge and Stevenage have exceeded expectations this season. Cambridge are gunning for the title and The Boro, who were saved from the drop by Macclesfield’s points deduction last season, are comfortably lower-mid table.

This is another local derby with more than just bragging rights on the line for The U’s. The League Two table-toppers hold a two-point advantage over Cheltenham in second but the Robins hold a potentially vital game in hand over Cambridge.

But, for this game in isolation, we’ve got to be on a home win which is currently trading at very generous odds. Stevenage have lost three on the bounce while the hosts have won their last two. United are the better side and desperately need the points so we’re backing them to show up and secure a Cambridge Win.
