Chelsea to Win To Nil

Chelsea are massive favourites to win here, they’re obviously enjoying a great run of form and couple this with Sheffield United’s brutal run of late, it’s pretty easy to see why their odds are so low.

Since Thomas Tuchel took over as head coach at Chelsea he has seen his side concede zero goals at Stamford Bridge, a run of six home matches without conceding a single goal. Indeed, over his 13 matches so far Chelsea have conceded just two goals. It’s a totally new side under the German and while many Blues fans would agree that former manager Frank Lampard should have been given more time at the helm, Tuchal has greatly improved the side since coming in.

Sheffield United have scored just one goal over their last six matches and over their last five away matches they’ve scored two goals. However, that was five games ago and over their four matches since then they’ve failed to find the back of the net.

Chelsea Half-Time/Full Time

Chelsea have been winning at half-time in seven of their 14 home Premier League matches this season. If we include their cup matches though, we see a higher rate of being ahead at half-time.

Over their eight most recent home matches in all competitions, Chelsea have scored an impressive nine first-half goals and were winning at half-time in six of those nine matches.

We hardly need to heap more pain on Blades’ fans here, but they’ve conceded 11 first-half goals over their 14 Premier League matches and three over their last four on their travels in all competitions. They’re a team down on their luck and out of form facing a Tuchel-led team who are peaking. Chelsea should add to their tally of first-half goals and first halves wins here.

Chelsea To Win 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0

With Chelsea’s great improvements to their defence of late, it’s going to be a tough task for Sheffield United to get on the scoresheet here. As mentioned above, Chelsea have now gone six home matches without conceding. Match this with the Blade’s lack of goals of late, scoring just one goal over their last six matches and just two over their last five away from home, so Chelsea should win this at a canter.

They’re not blowing teams away under Tuchal, mainly because they don’t have to. In all of their home wins under him the scoreline has been 2-0 and since taking over his side have only conceded two goals over his 13 matches.

Chelsea will come into this FA Cup match high on confidence following their Champions League win over Atletico Madrid and we see them cruising to a semi-final place, seeing off a side who are on an awful run and are rarely even hitting the back of the net.
