For Wednesday night’s footballing action we’re taking a look at the best of what the EFL Championship has to offer and we’ll also be taking a look at the Champions League second leg tie between Bayern Munich and Lazio with the Bavarians 4-1 up on aggregate. We’re gone deeply into the stats to find some value, let’s have a look then at what we’ve turned up.

MORE TOP TIPS: Our 14/1 Bet Builder for Chelsea v Atletico Madrid

19.00: Nottingham Forest v Norwich – Norwich to Win

Forest are now winless over their four most recent fixtures and take on Championship leaders Norwich side who have won all eight of their most recent league encounters. Forest’s home record isn’t in great shape either, they’ve won just one of their last six at the City Ground in the league, scoring just six goals while Norwich have won four of their last five on their league travels, scoring nine, conceding just four.

With 10 points between them and both Watford and Swansea in second and third place, Norwich can take yet another step towards landing their second EFL title since the 2018/19 season with a win. With them in such flying form, we’re going with the Canaries to take all three points here.

19.00: Wycombe v Barnsley – Barnsley to Win

Wycombe got a rare win at the weekend, a 2-0 win over Preston North End and really they look all but doomed for relegation at this point. It’s not impossible that they crawl themselves up the table but when a team has won just four home matches out of a possible 18 then the writing is pretty much on the walls.

Barnsley occupy the last of the current Playoff places and will be doing their best against the bottom team here to add some stability to their position. They’re on a great run too, they’ve not lost over any of their last 11 league matches, winning eight and drawing three. Away from home they’ve won their last four on the trot, scoring nine and conceding just three while poor old Wycombe has scored just three at home over their five most recent at Adams Park. Barnsley are the form side in the league and should easily come out on top here.

19.45: Birmingham v Reading – Reading to Win

Birmingham are in big trouble, just three points keep them above the relegation zone. Their form is terrible too, they’ve won just two of their last 12 Championship fixtures and at St Andrew’s it’s even worse, where they’ve won just two of their last 15 in the league, drawing two and losing 11.

Reading have won three of their last five in the league, drawing one and losing one. Looking at their most recent away league matches, their form isn’t the best though. They’ve won two, drawn two and lost one and only scored four goals over those five matches. Looking at goals, the home side have scored just 12 home goals over their 18 Championship matches with Reading getting 22 over their 18 on the road. Reading have kept three clean sheets over their last five on the road while Birmingham have failed to score in two of their five most recent. With those records we again have to go with the away side.

20.00: Bayern Munich v Lazio – Bayern to Win and BTTS

There’s very few who would expect Bayern Munich to mess this one up. Lazio’s best hope here is to get an early goal and pile on the pressure. Their one glimmer of hope is that Bayern’s defence isn’t what it used to be. Over their seven CL matches so far this season they conceded in five of them. Looking at their Bundesliga home record they’ve only kept three clean sheets over their last 15 matches at the Allianz. Lazio rarely go an away game without scoring, indeed of their last 20 away matches in all competitions they only failed to score in two.

All that being said Lazio don’t have much of a chance of winning here, Bayern have gone more than 30 matches in all competitions at home without a loss and we don’t see that ending here. The value is with Bayern to Win and BTTS.

Wednesday’s acca summary:

19.00: Nottingham Forest v Norwich – Norwich to Win
19.00: Wycombe v Barnsley – Barnsley to Win
19.45: Birmingham v Reading – Reading to Win
