18:00: MAN CITY V SOUTHAMPTON – BTTS

Of all the statistics heading into tonight’s sole game in the Premier League, there’s one which stands out above the rest. The last six head-to-heads between Man City and Southampton at the Etihad Stadium have seen both teams score but before onlooking Saints fans get too excited, their side has come out on the wrong end of the scoreline on five of those occasions.

Pep Guardiola’s men had a rare blip on home soil in the Manchester derby at the weekend and while it won’t stop them winning the title, it might just give Southampton hope of getting something out of this game. Man City have scored in all bar one of their home league games this season but heading into their fourth consecutive league game this evening, it should be highlighted that they have conceded in the previous three against West Ham, Wolves and Man Utd.

And it wasn’t that long ago when Southampton beat Man City either, 1-0 at St Mary’s last season, and they head into this game having secured a much-needed victory away to Sheffield Utd on Saturday. There’s every reason to think that Southampton will be on the receiving end of a backlash from the hosts but judged on previous trips to Manchester, they don’t seem fazed by this test.

They say the stats don’t lie and if that is the truth, then both teams will find the back of the net again when Southampton visit the Etihad this evening.

18:00: ATLETICO MADRID V ATHLETIC BILBAO – BTTS

While there is a gap of 26 points in the La Liga table between Atletico Madrid & Athletic Bilbao heading into tonight’s clash at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium, recent form suggests that this could be a much tighter affair. Diego Simeone’s side have been the team to catch from a very early stage of the season and their home form has been a big part of that reason, with only one defeat from 13 matches.

Victory tonight will extend their gap over second-placed Barcelona to six points and with Luis Suarez back amongst the goals against Real Madrid last weekend, he’ll be one of their many stars expected to help them continue that fine home run. As already highlighted, Athletic Bilbao head into this match on a decent run, in better form than the hosts, and being on an eight games unbeaten streak, they’ll fancy their chances.

Their scoring record has been even more impressive and should they find the back of the net this evening, that will be their 17th game in succession when they have scored. Not just that but remarkably, they have found the net in every one of their away games since late October too and in their last four La Liga matches, both teams have scored. If you fancy goals here, then it’s hard to disagree and both teams scoring should be one of the better bets in this match.

19:00: BARNSLEY V DERBY COUNTY – BTTS

As it stands, only Norwich City have as good a recent record in the Championship as Barnsley and heading into this evening’s clash at Oakwell, they sit in sixth spot in the table having won their last seven games, something only the league leaders have matched. It’s been a fantastic four weeks for Valerien Ismael’s side and since their narrow FA Cup defeat to Chelsea in early February, they have been unstoppable in putting together their magic run.

The betting suggests that tonight’s clash against Derby County shouldn’t stop their winning streak but this is a fixture in which the Rams have done well in recent seasons, including a 3-0 win in the 2018/19 campaign and very nearly another victory last season.

When the sides met back in November, Barnsley were 2-0 winners at Pride Park and that game was right in the middle of an 11 games winless run for Wayne Rooney’s side. Since then, their form has improved and away wins at Birmingham City, QPR and Wycombe will give them the belief that they can get a positive result here.

Don’t forget, they’re the only team to beat Norwich City at Carrow Road this season and having scored on the road in three of their games since the start of the year, they should be able to continue that trend this evening. Throw in the fact that Barnsley have scored in eight of their last nine home matches and they should match Derby on the scoring front at the very least.

20:00: PSG V BARCELONA – BTTS

When it comes to goals in this high-profile fixture, you shouldn’t need much convincing given the two teams involved. If you are in any doubt however, note that there have been at least two goals scored in the last nine head-to-heads between these two sides and in seven of the last nine meetings, both teams have scored.

And the way things turned out in first leg at the Nou Camp, that will most definitely mean goals, goals and more goals on Wednesday. PSG are all but certain to qualify for the Champions League quarter-finals after that 4-1 pulverisation of Ronald Koeman’s side last month and because of the job ahead of Barcelona here, knowing that they need at least four goals to advance, they are likely to be just as vulnerable at the back as they are likely to score.

A total of 13 shots on target in the first leg suggests that chances will be aplenty again and if you’re anyway worried about the hosts finding the target tonight, then don’t be. In their 38 games so far this season, they’ve found the net in all bar two while Barcelona have a near identical record with goals in 37 of their 40 matches in all competitions.

And we haven’t even mentioned Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe, who’ve got 47 goals between them so far this season. Everything points to a goal-fest at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday & if you’re doing a BTTS Acca, stick this game at the top of your list.
