Fulham’s next three games are going to go a long way to deciding whether The Cottagers will remain in the Premier League or return to The Championship. Scott Parker’s men head to Burnley tonight before facing Sheffield United and Crystal Palace.

A pretty grim schedule follows that for Fulham and they desperately need to start picking up points ahead of a horror run of seven fixtures against most of the league’s best sides. They’re seven points adrift of Newcastle in 17th but have a game in hand which they’ll use up tonight.

Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League

They face a tough assignment at Sean Dyche’s improving Burnley who themselves are still, somehow, only 16th after what has felt like a strong revival for The Clarets. Their woeful start means they’re still flirting vaguely with relegation, though you feel they’ve probably got enough to stay up going forward – especially if they win tonight.

Fulham have had too many draws but picked up a vital 2-0 win over Everton last time out to keep their hopes of avoiding the drop alive. Burnley had a thumping 3-0 win over Crystal Palace at the weekend so we could see a decent game with two sides on a high and looking to get one over their respective relegation rivals. There’s plenty at stake and here’s your three best bets.

Draw and Under 2.5 Goals

Unless you’re Manchester City, Burnley are generally pretty hard to break down. They don’t score bucket loads and we’ve already touched on Fulham’s tendency to share the spoils. In The Clarets’ last 10 games Over 2.5 Goals has only landed twice – games which they went on to win. Those numbers are identical for Fulham over the same timeframe but they have suffered a loss and a draw in those games.

Burnley tend to win or lose, they’ve only drawn five times all season and just once in the last 10, while Fulham have had eight draws in their last 12. You feel Dyche and Co will be happy to take a point and keep Fulham at arm’s length.

You can bet your bottom dollar that they’re not going to be going for the win if the scores are tied towards the end of the game. Fulham are going to go for it but their lack of cutting edge could be woefully exposed once again against an organised and defensively solid Burnley side. The Draw and Under 2.5 Goals looks the best play in this game.

Ivan Cavaleiro to have 2 or more shots on target

Josh Maja was The Cottagers’ hero on Sunday but he might not feature tonight as boss Parker confirmed that he was substituted after feeling his calf. That means that the man who replaced him, Ivan Cavaleiro, is likely to come back into the starting line up.

As mentioned, things are getting desperate for Fulham and they will be acutely aware of the pressing need for points right now given their horrific fixture list which is looming on the horizon. This is pointing towards a slightly frantic approach from Fulham in this game.

With Maja impressing against Everton, Cavaleiro will be desperate to remind everyone what he can do and that might be at the expense of the rest of the team if he opts to go for glory and try his luck a little more frequently than previously. Ivan Cavaleiro to have 2 or more shots on target could be a good play but if Maja starts, given the importance of this game, he will be the man to back if you fancy a flutter on this front.
