For Sunday’s Euro Acca we’re taking a look at some of the biggest names in European football as they battle it out at the top of their league tables. We’ll be taking a look at the title races in Spain where Real Madrid host Valencia.
In France, league leaders Lille take on Brest and could this finally be the weekend that Inter overtake AC Milan? They’re at home to Lazio. Let’s have a look at these matches, and more, and find some value in the markets.
3.15pm: Real Madrid vs Valencia: Over 2.5 Goals
This is a ‘must win’ for Real Madrid, here. They’re currently five points behind leaders Atletico Madrid and have played two games more than their city rivals. A win would keep the pressure up and they’ll be hoping they slip up over their games in hand.
Real are in good league form, they’ve won nine, drawn two and lost just one of their last 12 matches. While at home this season they’ve won seven and lost three of their 10. Six out of the last seven meetings between the pair have seen Over 2.5 goals with five seeing Both Teams to Score landing. Real have scored two or more in six of their last eight home league matches while Valencia have got at least one in 10 of their last 11 on the road. We’re expecting Real to Win but the pick is Over 2.5 Goals here.
4pm: Lille vs Brest: Lille to Win at HT/FT
Lille’s form has been incredible of late, they’ve won eight of their last nine in all competitions. At home in the league this season they’ve won eight, drawn three and lost one while Brest, on their league travels, have won just two, drawn two and lost eight over the campaign. Indeed, Brest have now gone six away matches in Ligue 1 without a win.
Lille have won all five of their most previous league encounters here. Only one saw Over 2.5 goals and the same match was the only time BTTS occurred too. Tempting to go with BTTS: No here but Brest have scored in four of their last five in the league so it’s a bit risky. Lille should win here but we can get a little bit more out of the odds. They’ve been winning at halftime in half of their home league matches and, in those five previous matches mentioned earlier have been ahead at HT in all five. Good odds here for Lille to Win at HT/FT.
7.45pm: Inter vs Lazio: Both Teams To Score
Inter are enjoying a run of form that has seen them lose just one league match over their last 15, while at home they’ve won all of their last seven at the San Siro. Lazio are in good form too, they’ve won seven out of their last eight in all competitions. Looking at the five most recent league meetings between the pair at the San Siro, both have won two and one ended in a draw. Only two had Over 2.5 goals, only one had BTTS landing.
While that might look a little off putting, recent form says we should see goals here. Inter have scored 15 goals over their five most recent home league matches while Lazio have scored seven over their five most recent away league matches and with both in such great form, and so much to play for we’re expecting plenty of goal-mouth action. Very healthy odds on Both Teams to Score here.
8pm: Villarreal vs Betis: Both Teams To Score
Fourth-placed Villarreal take on seventh-placed Betis. A win for the home side won’t see them overtaking anyone above them but they’re in danger of slipping out of touching distance should they not take the three points. Their home form has seen them drawing five out of their last six home La Liga matches while Betis have won two, lost two and drawn one over their five most recent on the road.
The market is siding with the home team here but their form is putting us off, they’re just not killing off teams and scoring that killer second goal. Villarreal are averaging 1.55 home goals while Betis are averaging 1.27 on their league travels. The best bet here is Both Teams To Score.
