6.00pm: Sheffield United v West Brom – Sheffield United to Win

The Premier League action kicks off on Tuesday with a huge game when the bottom two teams meet as Sheffield Utd welcome West Brom to Bramall Lane. The fact that West Brom have four points more than their rivals makes this a must-win game for the Blades while the Baggies are now nine points from safety.

There is no doubt that Chris Wilder’s side come into this game on the back of their best run of form this season, having beaten Manchester United 2-1 at Old Trafford before putting in a massive performance against Manchester City at the Etihad going down 1-0. They have won four of their last six fixtures in all competitions and this will give them hope that they can turn things around.

The Blades failed to win any of their first 18 fixtures so training must be easier in recent weeks and confidence will be high(er). Chris Wilder rested some of his players against City so obviously had one eye on this crucial fixture with top goalscorer David McGoldrick expected to return.

The Baggies under Sam Allardyce have failed to kick on from the draw at Anfield on Boxing Day and have picked up just four Premier League points since. They have conceded 50 Goals from their 21 top-flight matches, which is 14 more than any other team in the Premier League. They came back from a goal down at Craven Cottage last time out against Fulham, going 2-1 up only to concede late in the game which was a real body blow for morale. Head-to-head is pretty even between the two sides while the last time they met the Baggies came out on top 1-0 at the Hawthorns in November.

This is a good time for the Blades to face West Brom, on the back of two excellent performances in Manchester against the top two in the Premier league. While there is no doubt that Chris Wilder’s side are much better than the league position suggests, an obvious problem is scoring goals. They have improved in that front in recent weeks and come up against the worst defence in the Premier League here. The bet is a nervous Sheffield Utd to Win.

Football tips: Sheffield United can lead Tuesday’s Premier League Double

8.15pm: Manchester United v Southampton – Manchester United Half-Time/Full-Time

Manchester United will be looking to get back to winning ways when they welcome Southampton to Old Trafford on Tuesday. It was a nightmare week just gone for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men, having only picked up one point from their last two league matches.

The Red Devils will see this as a must-win game and ,despite recent results, sit in a healthy second-place position while Manchester City have two difficult fixtures this week away to Burnley and Liverpool. There is no question that Manchester United have suffered more than most by having no crowds in the stadium, picking up just 10 points from 14 home fixtures in the 2020/21 Premier League season. They will need to improve on this very quickly if they are to remain in the title race.

Tuesday, 8.15pm: Manchester United v Southampton
BT Sport 1/BT Sport Ultimate

Manchester United have won eight of their last 17 meetings with Southampton, while the Saints have won on just two occasions. The last time the two sides played in the Premier League was back in November, and that clash ended in a 3-2 victory for United.

Southampton have dropped to 11th in the table on the back of three straight defeats. They have scored just two goals in their last seven fixtures in the Premier League and have not won since the 1-0 victory against Liverpool in early January. The goals have dried up for Danny Ings and recent rumours of him wanting a move away from Southampton are a real concern as much as recent form for Saints manager Ralph Hasenhuttl.

Football tips: Willian Jose to land our 6/1 Wolves v Arsenal bet builder

Both sides come into this game on the back of poor results lately. Manchester United will realise they need a win to stay in the title race, while Southampton have not beaten the Red Devils in the league since January 2016 and have only won three times away from home in the league this season.

Despite United’s poor home record, I expect a fully focused performance. They will be looking to start this game quickly and get an early lead. The bet is Manchester United Half-Time/Full-Time.
