Football Tips: We’re off to Italy & Spain for Friday’s 13/2 PP News Daily Double

PPTV broadcaster Justin Kenny has a straight double for the Friday evening action in Serie A & La Liga.

The Stadio Olimpico Di Torino will host Friday’s Serie A game between Torino and Fiorentina. Much was expected of Fiorentina this season, but they have been disappointing so far. The Florence-based team have conceded eight goals in their last three games – including shipping six against Napoli recently. They sit 12th in the table with 21 points from 19 games and haven’t done well on their travels this season, but will not get a much better chance than this to change that.

Torino are in a real relegation battle and despite a couple of draws recently are struggling to score goals, taking just 14 points from 19 games. They have won just six times against Fiorentina in 32 games and their opponents are at full-strength for the Friday fixture. Torino recently sacked manager Marco Giampaolo with Davide Nicola overseeing a 2-2 draw against Benevento in his first game in charge.

The previous meeting between these two sides last September finished in a 1-0 victory for Fiorentina. Overall they have 14 victories in 32 games against their hosts, and on paper, they are far superior than their rivals. I expect a low scoring victory. The bet here is for Fiorentina to win.

Real Valladolid welcome basement side Huesca in La Liga on Friday night. Valladolid are struggling themselves this season and sit 16th with 20 points from their 20 matches. They suffered a 4-2 defeat at home to Levante in the Copa del Rey on Tuesday which could be a blessing in disguise allowing them to focus on the league. Their form of late is good, and have suffered just two defeats in their last eight La Liga games.

Huesca come into the game on the back of a goalless draw against Villareal which ended a run of five straight defeats. They have picked up just 13 points from 20 games, with new manager Pacheta picking up one point from his two games in charge so far. You have to say the newly promoted side look destined for a quick return to the Segunda Division.

Valladolid’s manager Sergio will demand a victory in this game to kick-start their season knowing a defeat will bring them right back into a relegation battle, and they could not ask for an easier game with their rivals having just one victory in 20 La Liga games.

The last time the sides met it finished 2-2, but this should be an easy night for the home side. The bet here is for Real Valladolid to win.
