7.30pm: Borussia Monchengladbach v Borussia Dortmund – Dortmund to Win

Borussia Monchengladbach welcome Borussia Dortmund on Friday evening in the Bundesliga, in what promises to be a mouth-watering clash. Both teams are looking to stay in the race for a top-four finish, with Dortmund sitting in fourth currently just one point in front of their rivals who sit in seventh.

Both sides have serious attacking options which would be the envy of most teams across Europe. Monchengladbach have really excelled under their manager Marco Rose and are unbeaten in their last four matches, with three victories. That includes a 3-2 win against current champions Bayern Munich. They were 2-0 down in that game and could have been 4-0 down in the first half when Bayern decided to fall asleep.

Marco Rose’s stock has certainly gone up and he has been heavily linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund, which will no doubt add a bit of spice to Friday’s game. Borussia Dortmund have hit the rocks in recent games and suffered a 2-1 defeat on Tuesday to Champions League qualification rivals Bayer Leverkusen. Monchengladbach are without star man Marcus Thuram due to suspension while Dortmund can welcome back Emre Can. With Thuram out for the hosts and Borussia Dortmund boasting a front three of Jadon Sancho, Erling Braut Haaland and Marco Reus, the advantage certainly swings to the away side.

In 27 head-to-head encounters between the two sides, Dortmund hold the clear advantage. They have won 20 games and drawn three. The two clubs last faced each other a few months ago in the Bundesliga with Dortmund beating Monchengladbach 3-0. The bet here is Borussia Dortmund to Win.

7.45pm: Benevento v Torino – Torino to Win

Friday Evening features a single game in Italy’s Serie A with Benevento playing host to Torino. Newly-promoted Benevento have made a decent start to life in Serie A and currently sit in 11th position. Recently however, their form is terrible and they have conceded eight goals in their last two games to Atalanta and Crotone. While the Atalanta defeat was expected, it was the hammering to bottom side Crotone which is the big worry. Benevento are also without Roberto Insigne due to injury and Marco Sau, who saw red in the latest game and will serve a suspension. Signs are certainly there that the novelty is wearing off for Benevento in Serie A.

Torino themselves have major problems and are currently 18th in the table. They have won just two games all season and with one win in their last 12, morale is low. The big problem for them is their lack of goals with 26 goals all season and just four in their last seven games. That said, their latest draw against Spezia in the league and recent form against Milan in the Coppa Italia (beaten on penalties) and a decent showing in the league going down 2-0 at the San Siro means they are in a better place than their rivals.

Despite league positions, Torino are a better side than Benevento. As mentioned, their big problem is scoring but against a side who have conceded eight in their last two games surely they can find the net in this one? The bet is a narrow victory for Torino.
