Rangers (-1)

Rangers’ relentless march towards the Scottish Premiership title shows no signs of letting up and should continue on Sunday against a struggling Motherwell. Steven Gerrard’s side have won their last 14 league games on the bounce and look capable of going unbeaten at this stage of the season.

Rangers have dropped just four points all season and it would take a bottle job of monumental proportions for them not to win the Scottish title at this stage. They have conceded just six goals all season – a rate of one in every four games they play – while they have also scored a staggering 59 goals from 23 games.

They have already beaten Motherwell twice this season by a combined margin of six goals and should have no trouble making that three wins out of three on Sunday,

Motherwell, meanwhile, are without a win in 10 league games, in a run that stretches back to October and has seen them slip perilously close to the bottom of the table. They are just one point ahead of Ross County in 12th (at the time of writing) and their fortunes are highly unlikely to improve this weekend. All signs point to a comfortable away win.

Over 3.5 goals

In spite of their horrendous form this season, Motherwell have actually fared relatively well against Rangers in an attacking sense. They are the only club to score at Ibrox in a league game this season and the only club to score against Rangers in two different games in the league.

It may be of scant consolation given that Motherwell lost 5-1 and 3-1 against Rangers, but it shows that they are capable of breaching The Gers defence in a way that most other teams aren’t. There is every chance that they won’t score on Sunday, but Rangers will and there still should be plenty of goals regardless.

Alfredo Morelos to score anytime

Morelos has struggled somewhat for Rangers this season, despite their utter dominance of the domestic scene. The Colombian striker has only scored six goals in the league during Rangers’ all-conquering campaign, and looks set to record his worst statistical season in Rangers colours.

The fact that one of Rangers’ key strikers has scored just six of their 59-goal haul is a little concerning and he has definitely struggled with the arrival of Kemar Roofe over the summer, who has been almost twice as prolific as his strike partner.

However, Roofe has been ruled out of Sunday’s game through injury, paving the way for Morelos to lead the line and the Colombian has been recapturing his form in recent weeks. He has scored three goals in his last three games and netted an all-important brace in the win at Aberdeen last week, while he was also responsible for Nir Bitton’s sending off in the Old Firm. He should flourish in a game that Rangers should win comfortably.
