Manchester City have looked like a giant that has finally woken up from a three-month coma in the last few weeks, with Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Birmingham were all defeated convincingly by Pep Guardiola’s men. A quick look at City’s fixture list suggests we could be about to see the blue half of Manchester go on a bit of a run and really ramp up their title challenge.

With Brighton the latest visitors to the Etihad this Wednesday evening, it feels like it could be a case of how many for City.

Man City v Brighton, 6pm: BT Sport 1

Kevin De Bruyne and co. have won their last five matches on the bounce scoring 14 and conceding only twice in the process. Brighton have one win in their last 10 league games but did manage a couple of hard-fought draws recently against the likes of West Ham and Wolves.

City are too short to back at 1/7 but -2 on the handicap looks a lot more attractive, especially if you are going to double it up with something else.

The second leg of our Daily Double lies in this rescheduled Tottenham v Fulham game. Jose Mourinho’s men have returned to form in recent weeks with four wins and a draw from their last five in all competitions. They have kept a clean sheet in their last three and should be rejuvenated somewhat here after resting some of their regulars in the win against Marine in the FA Cup last weekend.

Fulham on the other hand might be feeling the stretch as they were taken to extra time by QPR in what turned out to be a 2-0 win away at their neighbours. Spurs have scored 14 goals in their last five games across all competitions, but 10 of those 14 came against Stoke City, Brentford and non-league Marine. This suggests they have not really been shooting the lights out in front of goal.

Tottenham v Fulham, 8.15pm: Sky Sports Premier League

Scott Parker’s men may have been hanging around in the relegation zone since the season started but they will be much harder for Spurs to break down. Parker has made them more solid and recent draws with Champions Liverpool and in-form Southampton has given the players a new lease of life. Interestingly, the Cottagers have conceded more than one goal in only two of their seven games on the road in the league.

Tottenham might have been top of the table by now were it not for the draws against Crystal Palace, Newcastle United and West Ham this season. We’ve also seen them just get over the line by a single goal against strugglers Burnley and West Brom this. This all points to one market for me here as I fear yet another low-scoring contest so the second leg of the Daily Double is Under 2.5 goals.
