For Wednesday night’s action we’ll be taking a look at a few of the best names in European football taking the field in their domestic cup competitions. Bayern Munich are away to Holstein Kiel and the goals should pour there. That’s a terrible beer pun but we couldn’t resist.

Juventus are at home to Genoa in the Coppa Italia and finally we look at Spain where Real Sociedad will be hosting Barcelona in the Super Cup. Let’s have a look then at where we’ve squeezed some value out of the markets.

7.45pm: Holstein Kiel v Bayern Munich – Bayern to Win & Over 3.5 Goals

Bayern manager Hansi Flick will rest a few of his star players here, there’s no doubt about that. Following their 3-2 weekend defeat away to Borussia Moenchengladbach, Bayern’s players looked like they needed a good sleep. Even though the likes of Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Muller won’t start we’re likely to see Kingsley Coman, Jean-Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Douglas Costa leading the line in their stead.

Kiel are currently third in Germany’s second tier, just a point behind leaders Hamburg and while they’re a decent side they aren’t exactly full of goals, scoring just 12 over their eight home league matches. Four out of their last five home matches have seen Over 2.5 goals though, and the same can be said for Bayern’s home and away games. Bayern’s rotated XI will be trying to give their manager a selection headache here and the gulf in class between the sides won’t be long showing. Bayern to Win & Over 3.5 goals is where our money is going here.

7.45pm: Juventus v Genoa – Juventus to Win & BTTS

The last time Genoa beat Juventus as the away side was back in 1991. Genoa only have six players in their squad who were even born then. Genoa’s current form isn’t too bad – they’ve won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five matches – and their away record is the same. Juve’s record has seen them win four out of their last five (losing one) while at home, they’ve won three, drawn one and lost one.

There’s some decent value to be found in the Both Teams to Score market here, as Juventus are shipping loads of goals of late at home. They’ve had just one clean sheet over their last seven matches in Turin, conceding a total of eight while Genoa have scored at least one in four out of their last five away matches – a total of seven goals in all. Juventus manager Andrea Pirlo will also rotate some of his players but Cristiano Ronaldo should still start with Alvaro Morata partnering him. Genoa’s away scoring record against a leaky Juventus defence should see them getting at least one as well. Juve are still Juve at home and they should easily have more than enough to win over the 90 minutes. We’re going with Juventus to Win & BTTS here.

8.00pm: Real Sociedad v Barcelona – Barcelona to Win & Over 2.5 Goals

The winner of this match will go on to play either Real Madrid or Athletic Bilbao in the final. So, a Barcelona vs Real Madrid final then. And who doesn’t want more Classicos anyway?

Back to this match though, Sociedad are in a bit of bother after a great start to the season. They’ve now lost three of their last five, drawing one and losing one. Barcelona are undefeated over their five most previous fixtures, winning four and drawing one.

At home, Sociedad haven’t won any of their last five, drawing four and losing one while Barcelona on their travels have won four and lost one. They’ve kept a few clean sheets as well but Sociedad have been scoring so BTTS: No is off the cards for us here even though the odds are quite appealing.

Over 2.5 goals has landed in three out of three of the last meetings between the sides here and with both teams in decent scoring form we should see a few here again. Barcelona though are hitting their stride and should advance to the final. Barcelona to Win & Over 2.5 Goals has the best value odds here.
