Football tips: Our nifty 9/1 treble for Monday’s Premier League matches

What a tasty trio of games and punts we’ve got here.

Monday night’s Premier League action has quite the blue tinge to it but not in a sad way, as all six of the teams involved have at least some blue on their kits. A more important stat though is that three of the teams are in the top five and four are in the first seven positions in the league, so a win for the bottom of those, Chelsea in seventh, could get them up the third if other results go their way. Let’s have a look for some value in the betting markets.

Monday 3pm: Crystal Palace vs Leicester

Crystal Palace vs Leicester: Leicester to Win

Palace have had a bad couple of weeks, they’ve conceded 10 goals over their last two Premier League matches and failed to score even one in response. At home this season they’ve won just two of their seven league matches, drawing two and losing three – scoring just eight and conceding 14. Leicester won here last season and have won both of their two most recent away league matches as well.

The Foxes are in decent form of late, having won three of their last five league matches, drawing and losing one apiece. Their away form has been mighty, as they’ve won six of their seven on the road, while losing just one – scoring 17 and conceding seven in the process. With those stats and the comparison of form, we should be looking at a Leicester win here. They’re available at decent price considering those stats.

Monday 5.30pm: Chelsea v Aston Villa

Chelsea v Aston Villa: Both Teams To Score No Draw

Chelsea’s form over their last five matches in all competitions is pretty rough, as they’ve won just one, drawing one and losing three. At Stamford Bridge things are much better though, with Frank Lampard’s men have lost just two of their last 15 home league matches. They’ve beaten Villa over their five most recent visits as well and the odds for them to win reflect that.

Villa are in good form though, they’ve won three, drawn one and lost one of their last five PL matches – keeping four clean sheets in that time. Away from home they’ve won five out of their last six on their travels, losing one and keeping five clean sheets. It’s hard to see them keeping Chelsea scoreless here though, the Blues are averaging 2.43 goals per home match, while Villa are scoring 2.0 on their league excursions.

Both Teams to Score isn’t offering much value, but BTTS No Draw is far more pleasing to the eye. While Chelsea’s form at home is good, they’ve had a bit of a wobble of late and Dean Smit’s outfit could pull off a shock here. We’re going with BTTS here and either side to bag the three points.

Monday 8pm: Everton v Man City

Everton v Man City: Both Teams To Score No Draw

Big Carlo Ancelotti has steered Everton to second in the league and while much of the focus has been on other teams doing badly this season, they’ve crept up there by doing things correctly. Their home form has seen them win four and draw one of their seven, losing just two matches – scoring 15 and conceding 11. They’re going to need to find more goals to stay in the upper echelons of the league, but sort that out and they could go the distance.

The Toffees have won four of their last five league matches, but welcome a Man City side who have beaten them on all three of their last visits to Goodison Park. City are unbeaten over their last six league matches, winning four and drawing two. Away from home things aren’t so rosey though, they’ve won two of their last five, drawing two and losing one. Most surprisingly is that they’ve only scored three goals over those five away matches.

However, over the season so far City are averaging 1.0 goals per game away from home and Everton have been conceding 1.57. The Toffees are scoring 2.14 and while Everton have the better home form, we can’t forget that City are unbeaten over their last six matches. Both teams should get on the scoresheet here, but we should see a winner. The value is with BTTS No Draw.
