Southampton will want to bounce back from the disappointment against Manchester United, but I don’t expect them to for this game. Brighton have been really, really impressive this season – even if the results haven’t match the performances.
The Seagulls were unlucky against Manchester United and even against Liverpool, where they missed a penalty and restricted them to just two shots. If you look at the prices and factor in there’s going to be 2,000 Brighton fans at the game, I’d be really happy to back Brighton to Win.
Danny Ings is unlikely to be available, Ralph Hasenhuttl has said there’s a small chance but if he is not fit, then the price on Brighton to Win is definitely the best bet you’re getting on this game.
Monday 8pm: Brighton v Southampton Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League
There’s doubts over Neal Maupay, I’m a big fan of Aaron Connolly and his pace in behind. If you look at the goals Southampton conceded against Spurs and the chances United had in behind, Connolly should be a threat.
But the one I’m going to tip up is Danny Welbeck. Welbeck turned 30 last week which surprised me, I thought be would be older! But, he’s a quality striker who went to the 2018 World Cup with England.
If you look at the goal he took against Aston Villa and the way he got in behind, capitalising on a big mistake by Tyron Mings – if he gets that space against Southampton he has the quality to finish the chance.
