This weekend Thommo’s picked out a tasty 6/1 treble for Saturday’s Premier League clashes which feature some of the big boys. Everton head to Burnley for the early kick off and Manchester United face the improving West Ham while Chelsea are hosting Leeds in a potential cracker.
12.30pm: Burnley v Everton
This game is quite fascinating with Burnley, isn’t is. What the heck has happened to them? Sean Dyche, this is going to be his 200th game for Burnley. They’ve found it tough, finding themselves at the wrong end of the league.
They’re the joint-lowest scorers in the English Football League with Sheffield United, that tells you something. The thing about Burnley is that they have the lowest goal attempts. They’ve had 83 attempts and just 24 on target. You can see where the problem is here.
They’re having a really difficult time and Everton, they were going to be the new Leicester City! They were going to win the league! They have lost four out of the last five.
THOMMO’S TIP: Everton have won three of their last five away games and that’s the way I’m going in this one, Everton to win this one. Dominic Calvert-Lewin will enjoy himself again and I do fancy him to Score Anytime.
5.30pm: West Ham v Man Utd
There’s always a twist when these two meet and it wouldn’t surprise me if we saw one again here because West Ham have always been on of the great goal scorers, in eight out of their last 10 games they’ve scored in the 82nd minute or later. That tells you that they’re finding a little bit when they need to.
I don’t think they were great against Aston Villa, I thought they were pretty poor actually. They got away with that one. United, which United’s going to turn up? My goodness!
You look at them against Southampton, two down and they had to come from behind. They’re away again and that’s why I’m going for Manchester United.
THOMMO’S TIP: They’ve come from behind to win all four of their away games this season so I’m going for Manchester United to win. It will be tight and there might be twists in it, West Ham might lead but I fancy Manchester United to win and Both Teams To Score.
In terms of a goal scorer it’s always worth looking at Bruno Fernandes because he takes the penalties and they should be called Penchester United! but I’m going for Edinson Cavani to Score Anytime. He’s done enough to play in this game for United. If he plays I fancy him to score.
8pm: Chelsea v Leeds
Leeds are struggling but they had a big win last week. This could be quite interesting, I expect Both Teams To Score in this. You look at Chelsea. Will Olivier Giroud play? That is going to be the big question.
I don’t think he will do. I think Frank Lampard will go for Tammy Abraham. It’ll be hard, scoring four goals in the Champions League – and it wasn’t against some numptys! It was astonishing. But I think Frank will want to show that he can be a tough manager and he will go for Abraham and I think this has got the making of a great game, I know Chelsea’s 0-0 with Spurs wasn’t great.
But, Leeds looked as though they were going to be comfortable, they had that difficult time and then what a game against Everton last week. Leeds have had 48 attempts in their last two matches.
THOMMO’S TIPS: They do like to attack, and I think Chelsea will take full advantage. I do expect Both Teams To Score, but I’m expecting Chelsea to come out 3-1 winners. I’m expecting Tammy Abraham to Score Anytime because he’ll be up for it after what’s happened with Giroud, he’ll have to be on his toes.
Thommo’s Treble
I’m going for Chelsea, I think they’ll be good, United will be tight but I fancy them and I do expect Everton to beat Burnley.
