Football tips: Our 6/1 double for Tuesday’s TV tussles in the Championship

The Sky is the limit for us with this tasty twosome.

7.45pm: Birmingham vs Barnsley – Draw

Sky Sports Arena

Without a win in their last five, Birmingham could really do with a nerve-settling win over Barnsley at St. Andrew’s. Aitor Karanka’s side are currently six points clear of the bottom three, but that gap has been getting smaller in recent weeks due to their inability to pick up three points.

Draws have been the story of their season so far, with only Millwall registering more stalemates than Birmingham after 14 games this season. It could well be more of the same on Tuesday night against a Barnsley side that only sit above them in the league by virtue of a marginally superior goal difference.

The two clubs can hardly be separated in the league table and that may translate onto the pitch given Birmingham’s struggles of late. Barnsley have also lost their last two games and will be keen to avoid a third consecutive defeat.

There is a very good chance that Barnsley and Birmingham will remain neck and neck in the league table at full-time on Tuesday.

8pm: Rotherham vs Brentford – Away win

Sky Sports Football

After a rocky start, Brentford’s season is finally starting to pick up momentum. Last season’s play-off finalists have won their last two games and are unbeaten in their last seven in a run that has propelled them to within touching distance of the top-six.

They are now just five points off the top following an unconvincing, but perhaps understandable, start to the campaign following the loss of marquee forwards Ollie Watkins and Said Benrahma. Ivan Toney, the man brought in to replace Watkins’ goals, has been an absolute revelation so far this season and is currently on course to match the meteoric figures set by Watkins last season, giving Brentford every chance of going one better than last season.

A win against Rotherham on Tuesday could see them move into the play-off places and they should have no problems securing it. The Millers have won just won of their last six games, picking up just four points.

They have also failed to keep a clean sheet in their last six and could really struggle to keep out the in-form Toney on Tuesday.
