Rennes welcome Chelsea to Roazhon Park for their Group E Champions League match. This is one of the early kick-offs, starting at 17:55 UK time so, you’ve been told now and you’ve no excuses now for missing it.

Rennes are rooted to the bottom of the group and Chelsea haven’t lost a match in 90 minutes since mid-September. With Chelsea coming into the match as strong favourites is there any value left in the market? Let’s have a look for the three best bets we’ve found for this match.

Chelsea to Win & Over 2.5 Goals

Rennes are on an awful run of late, they’ve won just one of their last five matches and lost all four of the others. Their home form isn’t all that wonderful either, having won two, drawn one and lost two over their five most recent. Both Teams to Score and Over 2.5 goals occurred in three of those matches though, so they are, at least, getting a few goals.

Chelsea have won their last five matches in-a-row and in their away matches and apart from losing to Spurs in a League Cup penalty shootout, they’ve not lost since Bayern Munich beat them in the Champions League last August. They’ve been in great scoring form of late too, scoring 16 over their five most recent matches. Rennes’ bad form mixed with Chelsea’s good run and, in particular, their goal-scoring prowess means we’re looking at fairly tasty odds for Frank Lampard’s men to win with over 2.5 goals in the game.

Timo Werner to Score Anytime

Timo Werner didn’t get off to the greatest of starts at Chelsea, but thankfully for Blues fans he’s stepped up of late and has now scored five over his last five matches. It’s worth mentioning that he got two in the reverse fixture at Stamford Bridge earlier in the month and while his shoulders were slumping in September and October, he now looks like the striker he was in his RB Leipzig hayday. He’s the favourite here to get a goal anytime, and with him being in such good form and on penalty duties as well there’s certainly value to be had in his price at the time of writing.

Halftime/Fulltime – Chelsea/Chelsea

Chelsea to Win is a decent price considering their form versus Rennes’ of late, but we can add a bit more to it. Of their five most recent matches mentioned earlier where they’ve won all of them, they’ve also been winning at half-time in all of them. Rennes have been trailing at the break in all three of their three most recent outings as well.

The London side have also been ahead at half-time in two of their previous three Champions League matches to date this season, and in their three most recent away matches in the Premier League they’ve also gone in at the short whistle in the lead. With those stats, there’s a very decent chance of Chelsea to be winning at HT/FT.
