Manchester United are lining up a move for Neil Warnock as they plan for next season’s Championship promotion bid.
The 76-year-old tops a list of potential replacements for under-fire boss Ruben Amorim which includes other Championship managerial stalwarts such as former Derby County manager Billy Davies and ex-Birmingham City boss Chris Hughton.
United co-owners INEOS have identified Warnock as the man to guide the club back into the Premier League following their impending relegation this season.
Warnock, who holds the record for the most promotions with eight, is keen on the move.
‘You’ve got to f***ing die to three points against Brighton’, Warnock told Paddy Power News after watching United’s 3-1 home defeat to The Seagulls.
‘What’s Andre Onana doing there? F**king hell, f**king hell, I need to lie down.
‘First thing I’d do as United boss is send that clown back to Italy and bring in a proper keeper like Paddy Kenny.
‘That Lenny Yoro lad would be out the door after him. United need a proper centre half in there.
‘I’d be giving Jags a bell.’
‘And I’ve seen better movement out of Subbuteo players than that Zirkzee lad. They need a centre forward like Paul Peschisolido. He might be 53 but he’d still score more goals than Rasmus Højlund’.
In related news, current Reds boss Ruben Amorim has apologised after he labelled his side the worst team in Manchester United’s history.
‘I must apologise to the lads for saying there were the worst group of players in United’s history’, the Portuguese told Paddy Power News.
‘What I meant to say is that they are the worst group of players in the history of football’.
Meanwhile, United fans have set up a GoFundMe page to pay for Antony’s flight to Spain as the Brazilian winger looks set to join La Liga outfit Real Betis.
