Exclusive: Antony misses coach back to Man United team hotel

Another miss?

Brazilian winger Antony missed the coach back to Manchester United’s team hotel following their 3-1 victory over relegation rivals Southampton.

The £82m signing from Ajax was spotted outside Old Trafford clasping his head in disbelief shortly after the coach had departed.

CCTV replays showed the 24-year-old chasing after the coach as it exited the stadium car park, much to the amusement of his United teammates who were making rude hand gestures and banging the rear window of the vehicle.

United sources claim Antony then tried to take a train back to the hotel but fell asleep and missed his stop.

‘It’s a shocking miss’, a United car park attendant told Paddy Power News.

‘He’s made a late run into the car parking area, but he’s failed to make the connection. He’ll be disappointed with himself when he sees the replay’, sighed the attendant while watching the CCTV footage.

The former São Paulo starlet took to social media this morning to apologise to his manager and teammates for the awful miss.

‘I was in the changing room practicing my tiger claw pose in front of the mirror and I’ve lost track of time’, the United flop wrote on Instagram.

‘It’s just another case of a grown man making silly hand gestures gone wrong. These things happen in football but mainly when posing for photos with rappers and boxers. We move on.

‘I’ve apologised to the lads and told them that’s my last miss of the season. They didn’t seem convinced. I’ll come back stronger from this’.

Meanwhile, United have announced they’ll be releasing a new documentary to commemorate last night’s relegation six-pointer victory over Southampton.

Ruben Amorim’s side kept their Premier League survival hopes alive with a thrilling late win courtesy of an Amad hattrick which fans are describing as the greatest night in the club’s history.

‘United: Class of 2025’ will be available to stream on Amazon next month.
