Guardiola signs one-year deal to manage Man City in League Two

He's said to be relishing the challenge... seriously

Pep Guardiola has agreed terms on a new one-year contract to be Manchester City’s manager in League Two next season, Paddy Power News can reveal.

Paddy Power News also understands Guardiola’s new deal includes the option of a further year should City suffer a further relegation to the National League with the club facing 115 charges for alleged breaking of Premier League rules.

The news will come as a massive boost to the champions who also announced they’d be adding an extra 7,000 empty matchday seats to the Etihad Stadium next season.

‘Ever since I was a young coach at Barca Atletic, I always dreamed of pitting my wits against the likes of Accrington Stanley’, Guardiola told us.

‘I’ve led my teams to victory in stadiums such as the Nou Camp, the Bernabeu and Anfield but the greatest thrill of my career will be sampling a wet Wednesday night at the Wham Stadium.

‘It will be a joy to watch Tiki-taka on their waterlogged pitch’.

The Spaniard also said the contract extension will provide him with further opportunities to wildly gesticulate when he knows a TV camera is nearby.

‘Whether it’s giving over-animated instructions to oncoming subs; dropping to my knees like Sgt. Elias in Platoon when Erling misses a chance or running onto the pitch to coach another manager’s player. I just can’t get enough’, he admitted.

In related news, the EFL have confirmed that striker Erling Haaland will be subject to certain restrictions should City be demoted to League Two.

‘In the interests of fairness and sporting integrity, Erling will only be permitted to play whilst blindfolded’, a spokesperson told us.

‘Despite Roy Keane comparing him to a League Two player, we can assure you he’s better than Will Grigg – even when he’s on fire.

‘We can’t be having that 8ft Goth smashing in triple hattricks against Harrowgate Town and Newport County every f***ing week’.
