The juggernaut that is the English top flight is in full swing and we’ve got all the Premier League odds right here for you.
After the jam-packed festive schedule, Arne Slot’s Liverpool have opened up a healthy lead at the top of the table as they search for a first title since 2020. Manchester City’s bid to win an unprecedented fifth-consecutive title has gone wrong and Arsenal are playing catch up after an iffy spell.
Ruben Amorin has now formally arrived into the Old Trafford hot seat but they sit in the bottom half and the prospect of returning to the Champions League appears a long, long way off.
New Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca is looking to bring order to Stamford Bridge, and Spurs boss Ange Postecoglu is under pressure to deliver in his second season at the club.
Liverpool
As Jurgen Klopp strolled off the Anfield turf for one final time he led the home fans in a slightly awkward ‘Arne Slot’ chant to usher in the new era.
Slot may have won the title in the Netherlands, but the Premier League is a different ball game, as he looks to fill Klopp’s shoes.
However, he’s taken to English football like a duck to water, with his side top the lot after 18 games with 45 points on the board.
Three of the club’s biggest stars – Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold – are entering the final year of their contract and success may be pivotal if they’re to stay.
Next Fixture: Man Utd (H) Sun. Jan 5 – 16:30
Arsenal
Mikel Arteta’s team have slipped to second favourites following a disappointing start to the season in which they have won 11 of their 19 games.
The Gunners added depth in the summer, with Italian star Ricardo Calafiori coming into the defence and the experienced Raheem Sterling arriving on loan, but they still don’t have an out-and-out proven goalscorer.
Arsenal’s four-game winless streak could prove costly and Arteta is coming under pressure to deliver silverware.
Next Fixture: Brighton (A) Sat. Jan 4 – 17:30
Manchester City
Pep Guardiola has extended his Manchester City contract for another two years, but the problems are mounting at the Etihad Stadium.
A string of defeats means the reigning champions have slipped as title favourites with Paddy Power and they are a long way off the pace.
Erling Haaland has gone off the boil and qualifying for next season’s Champions League now looks to be the height of their ambitions. Rodri is set to miss the whole campaign and is proving a key miss.
Next Fixture: West Ham (H) Sat. Jan 4 – 15:00
Chelsea
The Blues have been nothing short of a shambles at times thanks to their controversial owner Todd Boehly.
However, despite his lack of experience, new boss Enzo Maresca has breathed new life into the west London side.
Maresca wasn’t afraid to make some big decisions in the summer culling star names such as Sterling, Conor Gallagher and Ben Chilwell from his squad.
He still possesses a lot of quality though, particularly in the attacking third with Cole Palmer, Nicolas Jackson and Noni Madueke already scoring plenty so far this campaign.
Next Fixture: Crystal Palace (A) Sat. Jan 4 15:00
