Real Madrid propose breakaway Ballon d’Or after Vinicius Jr snub

Real Madrid have confirmed they'll launch a breakaway super leag... I mean Ballon d'Or award following Rodri's win over Vinicius this week

Florentino Perez has created a new breakaway Super Ballon d’Or ‘to save football’, the Real Madrid president told Paddy Power News.

It follows Madrid’s decision to boycott Monday’s Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris where forward Vinicius Junior was beaten to best men’s player by Manchester City’s Rodri.

Only Real Madrid players and staff would be eligible for award nominations under the proposed new Super Ballon d’Or format.

‘We are doing this to save football at the critical moment’, said Perez.

‘Rodri only has one knee, and we dumped those 115 charges b******s out of Europe. Vini was robbed.

‘The only surprise is that they didn’t award it to a 50-yr-old Pessi for scoring 20 goals in a farmers league’, he added.

After Rodri was confirmed as the winner, Vinicius took to X to vent his fury at the snub:

‘Too many snakes at the Ballon d’Or. Just gonna look after me and the kids from now on’.

Vinicius’ Real teammate Dani Carvajal, who was also overlooked for the main prize, commented under the post:

‘DM me chick xX’.

In related news, Manchester United’s two Kopa Trophy nominees Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo were spotted outside the Theatre du Chatelet, Paris trying to hitch a ride home.

It follows reports that United requested a lift for the pair on Manchester City’s private jet but were rejected by their fierce rivals.

Onlookers claim Garnacho and Mainoo stuck their thumbs out at passing traffic and were even overheard discussing sailing across the English Channel in a dinghy.

United’s decision to leave the pair stranded in the French capital is all part of INEOS’ ‘cost-cutting programme’ at Old Trafford.

So far other cost-cutting measures have included: ending Sir Alex Ferguson’s £2m-per-year global club ambassador role; making 250 members of staff redundant and replacing corporate prawn sandwiches with LIDL’s own brand fish fingers.
