Otherwise known as Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis, ‘Hawk Tuah Boy’ is going viral after being featured in an online vox-pop interview.
In the video, Marinakis was asked ‘What do you think of Premier League match officials?’ and the 57-year-old replies: ‘You gotta give ‘em that ‘hawk tuah’ and spit on ‘em thangs’.
However, while making the sound of a wild west gunslinger using a spittoon, Marinakis inadvertently gobs on the floor as match officials walk past him in the City Ground tunnel.
Video of the incident is going viral after an independent regulatory commission found Marinakis guilty of improper conduct and awarded the Greek shipping magnate a five-match stadium ban.
In his defence, Marinakis claimed he had a hacking cough because he smokes a cigar every time a Premier League official makes a mistake, currently estimated at 200 cigars per week.
On his newfound celebrity status, Marinakis said:
‘One minute, you’re just a regular billionaire football club owner with links to multiple football and legal controversies across the world, the next you’re an internet meme’.
‘Although it might appear I was deliberately expectorating towards the officials, it was completely accidental.
‘As was the fart I wafted in their direction immediately afterwards.’
‘I’ve had loads of offers to appear on talk shows and podcasts. In fact, I’m appearing on The Alex Jones Show tomorrow to discuss Stuart Attwell’s links to Luton FC and the use of chemtrails by the Glazer family to convince United fans Antony is a footballer’.
Asked if he’d be willing to appear on Jake Humphrey’s High-Performance podcast, Marinakas said:
‘No. I still have my morals’.
And in a bid to capitalise on his viral moment, the Nottingham Forest Megastore is selling official Hawk Tuah Boy’ merch including trucker-style caps and T-shirts that read: ‘If he don’t hawk tuah, he ain’t a billionuah’.
