Man City clinch £5billion sponsorship deal with Man City owner Sheikh Mansour

Man City have sealed a huge sponsorship deal with, err, Man city owner Sheikh Mansour following their successful challenge of Premier League rules

Manchester City have signed a new multi-billion-pound sponsorship deal with Sheikh Mansour after successfully contesting a legal case against the Premier League over the league’s rules on commercial deals involving clubs’ owners.

The tribunal found that two aspects of the associated party transaction (APT) rules were unlawful meaning City’s legal team now has the same amount of Premier League wins this season as Man United.

As part of a £5b sponsorship deal, a likeness of the Sheikh’s image will appear on City’s kits, on their training ground – even on the half-time pies at the Etihad Stadium.

City believe the cash injection will finally allow them to compete on an equal playing field with the likes of Bournemouth, Brentford and Ipswich.

‘After months of tense negotiations, I am delighted to announce I have finally agreed a £5b sponsorship deal with Sheikh Mansour’, said Sheikh Mansour.

‘I am very much looking forward to working with myself as I try to financially dope this club to the next level’.

At a press conference, the Sheikh posed proudly with a chicken and mushroom pie emblazoned with his face before rounding on the Premier League who he accused of abusing their powers.

‘How dare the Premier league try to stop us from sponsoring ourselves to inflate our revenues and transfer budgets!’, yelled Mansour.

‘One down, one hundred and fifteen to go ya b*******’, he added, before taking a bite out of the 10 quid pastry.

In purely coincidental news, City boss Pep Guardiola has indicated he would be willing to sign a 2-year extension to his contract.

It was rumoured the Spaniard would leave in the summer with the club facing a possible relegation over its alleged breaches of 115 financial rules.

‘Today’s ruling has had no bearing whatsoever on my decision to stay at City’, Guardiola told Paddy Power News, while barely holding it together.

‘To be honest, I would love to spend next season in the Championship. We would still get to play the Manchester derby’.
