As the Premier League season motors along, the English top-flight is beginning to settle.
Familiar storylines are emerging from previous campaigns: Man Utd are rubbish, Everton are worse (probably), Wolves seem a bit crap, West Ham too.
We’re six games in and owners and directors could be starting to get twitchy.
Some early season pressure means the potential for sackings before the end of 2024 are on the horizon as a block of teams struggle for autumnal form.

Erik ten Hag
Erik ten Hag looked certain to leave Man United at the end of last season, but he remained in place at Old Trafford.
They haven’t kicked on from that shock FA Cup final win over rivals Man City, and a 3-0 drubbing by Tottenham will only heap more pressure on.
After two years of not really looking very good, how much patience remains in the boardroom?
Sean Dyche
Sean Dyche showed his belly for the battle last season as Everton survived points deductions to maintain their unbroken Premier League status.
The Toffees invested in their squad over the summer, but pressure is inevitable at Goodison Park despite Dyche’s success in dodging relegation. Their start to the season has been abysmal, throwing away leads in three league games in September, and with new ownership incoming, Dyche is watching his back.
Gary O’Neil
Things can change very quickly in Premier League football as Wolves boss Gary O’Neil is starting to see. After guiding Wolves away from possible relegation last season, the former midfielder was rewarded with a summer contract extension, as all seemed rosy at Molinuex.
However, his team has have really struggled in the opening months of the campaign and his sacking odds have seen a major rise.
Julen Lopetegui
Julen Lopetegui famously left Wolves on the eve of last season due to frustration on transfer funding at Molineux. He’s back in the Premier League in 2024/25, as West Ham opted to bring him in as David Moyes’ successor. But with the Hammers backing him with some big transfers, results are yet to really follow.
Russell Martin
Southampton hauled themselves back into the Premier League via the playoffs at the end of last season but Russell Martin is finding it tough going so far.
It’s never easy for promoted teams to make their mark in the Premier League, and Martin needs to dig in and pick up some points, if he is to stay in place on the south coast.
Ange Postecoglu
‘I’m not your mate, mate’. Ange Postecoglu has bullishly claimed that second seasons are where he starts to shine, with the Australian confident he can end Tottenham’s 16-year wait for a trophy.
A media darling in his debut campaign, for his affable straight-shooting in press conferences, we all know that can change quickly, mate.
Steve Cooper
Marseca’s switch to Chelsea opened up a vacancy at the King Power Stadium, which Steve Cooper seized despite his links to Leicester’s local rivals Nottingham Forest.
His arrival somewhat underwhelmed Foxes fans, who were frustrated by Maresca’s exit, and Leicester are amongst the current strugglers.
