Doncaster players in train station spat with fans after Everton defeat

Everton smashed Doncaster 3-0 in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night and Rovers fans had a special four-letter message for their players

Everton Doncaster Carabao Cup

Footage has emerged of Doncaster’s squad receiving abuse from furious supporters following the club’s dismal 3-0 Carabao Cup defeat to Everton last night.

Underdogs Everton caused a huge upset thanks to goals from Dwight McNeil, Jake O’Brien and new signing Iliman Ndiaye as they progressed to the third round of the competition.

Raging Rovers fans could be heard shouting ‘f*** off’ at their players as they made their way back to Doncaster by train.

‘I’ve been a Doncaster fan for over 40-years, and this is the worst result I can remember’, one Rovers fan told Paddy Power News.

‘I’m dreading work tomorrow. The stick I’ll take off the Rotherham supporters for getting knocked out of the cup by a sh*te team like Everton. I might phone in sick’, he wept.

The result gave plucky Everton their first win of the season and manager Sean Dyche was understandably elated.

‘Football. Bloody hell’, said a clearly emotional Dyche.

‘Fans in this stadium will be able to tell their grandkids: ‘I was at Goodison Park the night we beat an under-strength Doncaster Rovers side 3-0 in the Carabao Cup 2nd round’.

Meanwhile, Everton supporters are planning a tickertape parade for their cup heroes ahead of this weekend’s relegation six-pointer against Bournemouth.

Everton manager Sean Dyche reacts as Paddy Power pay out on the Toffees to be relegated from the Premier League in the 2024/25 season.

Toffees fans demanded the club organise an open top bus parade so they could show their appreciation for all their efforts in overcoming League Two giants Doncaster.

‘In typical Evertonian fashion, we want to demonstrate our unwavering support for all our players’.

‘Even Neal Maupay’.

Paddy Power News also understands the club are planning to release a commemorative DVD to celebrate the remarkable feat.

The DVD, ‘Everton v Doncaster: Against All Odds’ will be available to buy in B&M Bargains and Poundland later this month.
