Reports: Jurgen Klopp gave Mo Salah hair surgeon number as Liverpool parting gift

"Hey, Mo, I know a guy..."

Online speculation suggests Liverpool legend Mo Salah has had summer hair transplant – with some sleuths speculating that his former manager Jurgen Klopp was involved.

The 32-year-old, known for his relentless goal-scoring and lustrous mop, has appeared in preseason action shorn of his distinctive, though gradually diminishing, locks.

And anonymous posters on fan forums are convinced it’s because he’s had a corrective procedure on his curls, thanks to  a very special parting gift in his Anfield locker from his former boss.

Whispers among the Anfield faithful suggest the German coach left a parcel consisting of a home teeth-whitening kit, a baseball cap, a voodoo doll of Pep Guardiola with 115 pins in it, and the name and phone number of a Turkish hair technician called Hakan who performed Klopp’s own follicle intervention as he attempted to leave the Reds on good terms with their star goalscorer.

“Mo already had a mint scouse haircut, there’s only two reasons he’d cut it off. One is if he’s off to Real Madrid, which is not going to happen as he’s already playing for the best team in the world.

“The more likely reason is Jurgen suggested to get a transplant,” said forum admin, JohnYNWA6times.

“And his noticeably shinier grin in preseason just confirms that Kloppo’s behind it, in my opinion.

“Plus, my mate’s cousin’s dentist’s nephew says he saw him waiting for a flight to Kusadasi in a baseball cap, which is a dead giveaway, so I’m expecting incredible new hair growth in the next few months,” he continued.

Despite a high level of uncertainty around Salah’s hair and its future, one thing Liverpool supporters are completely sure of is that they will be winning the Premier League this season having beaten both Manchester United and Arsenal in pre-season friendlies.

Paddy Power News has been told in no uncertain terms that the title race is done and dusted.

“3-0 against United, it could have been 10!

“We’ve booked an open top bus parade for 26th May, have live performances from Mel C and John Bishop, it’s going to be so boss,” said an especially bullish supporter camped outside Anfield in anticipation of the club’s first summer signing, not that they were concerned about the lack of transfer activity.

“Mo’s changed his look so he’s kinda like a new striker, isn’t he?”

“Sepp van den Berg isn’t going to be allowed to leave on loan again, so he’s like a new defender. Sort of.

“So, in summary, CHAMPIONS, CHAMPIONS!” he added.

Though others remain less convinced, with owners Fenway Sports Group taking the brunt of the criticism.

“Honestly, what have FSG ever done for Liverpool?

“Besides bring in the most beloved coach in the club’s history, ending 30 league title-less years, winning the Champions League and going toe-to-toe with a pack of cheats in Man City, what have they ever done, eh?” said one disgruntled red.

While another fan, rocking back and forth by the Anfield gates, was overheard muttering “Announce Aquilani, Announce Riera, Announce El-Hadji Diouf” over and over before concerned onlookers carried him away.
