Scotland take on Switzerland in their second game of Euro 2024 – and they need to pick up points if they want to qualify for the knockout stages.
The Tartan Army suffered the worst-ever opening game defeat in Euros history losing 5-1 to hosts Germany in Munich, so they have a lot of work to do.
They face a tough Switzerland side whose brilliant first-half display earned them victory over a well-fancied Hungary side.
Steve Clarke’s team will be cheered on by strong support yet again and hoping Friday’s embarrassment was just a blip against one of the tournament favourites.

Scotland v Switzerland’s previous results
Both sides have faced each other 16 times in the past with Scotland winning 8 and Switzerland winning 5, with three draws.
They last played back in 2006 though, so this game is a hard one to predict. The results of the most recent meetings were:

September 8, 1993: Scotland 1-1 Switzerland
Scotland v Switzerland prediction
Thommo: Scotland need a result and a better performance.
I know they were playing against Germany on their own patch, but it still wasn’t good enough. You heard from Steve Clarke and Andy Robertson saying just that too. They had just the one shot and even that wasn’t on target. It just wasn’t good enough.
Switzerland played decently in that first-half against Hungary, but I think Scotland need this and will be really fired up.
Having said that, the Swiss did have 15 shots in that game, seven of them on target. They’re no slouches. It will be tight.
I’m backing Scotland to Win 2-1.
