Euro 2024 favourites: Which teams head Paddy’s odds to win this summer’s Euros?

Germany takes centre stage!

Euro 2024 is well underway, with 24 teams in Germany in the hope of being crowned champions.

The last edition of the competition was won by Italy but ended in heartbreak for England, who lost in the final at Wembley Stadium on penalties.

2022 World Cup runners-up France are probably the team to beat heading into this summer’s competition, but the Three Lions will fancy their chances as will the hosts and three-time champions, Germany.

It will be the third time the Germans have hosted the tournament, with four matches of the multi-national Euro 2020 being played in Munich and the 1988 edition hosted by West Germany.

The groups were set a long time ago, with the 21 teams who qualified automatically being joined by three play-off winners in March.

You can find all the latest Euro 2024 odds on the Paddy Power website and Paddy Power app, otherwise, here’s everything you need to know ahead of this summer’s tournament.

England

Could this be England’s year? Fans always seem to think so, but this year they could be right. The Three Lions have one of the most-rated squads in Europe, spearheaded by captain and serial goalscorer Harry Kane.

Littered with stars from some of the world’s biggest clubs – Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden and Bukayo Saka to name a few – they should be aiming to go all the way.

Gareth Southgate’s men got off to a good start with a 0-1 win over Serbia in their first game, and they are Paddy Power’s favourites.

England Outright Winner

France

England’s closest rivals are likely to be France. They finished second at the 2022 World Cup, with star man Kylian Mbappe becoming only the second-ever player to score a hat-trick in the final, and they still lost.

They knocked out England en route and if they face each other again it promises to be a match to remember.

Mbappe is, arguably, the best player heading to the tournament and he could be the difference.

France secured a tough 0-1 victory in their opening game against Austria with an own goal the difference between the two sides.

Germany

Since lifting the World Cup in 2014, Germany have underperformed at major tournaments, but this year they have home advantage.

England knocked them out en route to the final three years ago, but history shows that in knockout games against each other, it’s usually the Germans who come out on top.

They got off to the perfect start thrashing Scotland in the opening game 5-1. While they’ll pose a huge threat, they don’t go into a home tournament as favourites.

Germany Outright Winner

Portugal

Can Cristiano Ronaldo lead his country to glory before (potentially) departing from the international stage? It’s one of those scenarios that would prompt cries of ‘you couldn’t write this sort of stuff’ despite it being a decent possibility.

Portugal possess a squad packed with talent from front to back and should easily progress through from Group F. They could go all the way.

They earned a narrow victory in their opening game against the Czech Republic in a difficult Group F.

Portugal Outright Winner
