Arsenal land 10-2 aggregate Bayern defeat in Champions League quarter-final draw

Mikel Arteta is chomping at the bit for the Gunners' impending moral victory.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said his players are relishing the opportunity to be demolished over two legs by Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarterfinals.

The Gunners eagerly await their customary 10-2 aggregate drubbing at the hands of the German giants following their shootout success against Porto in the last round.

‘There are no easy games in football – except for Sheffield United’, Arteta told Paddy Power News. ‘But Bayern will be licking their lips after that draw’.

‘They’ve pumped us 5-1 the last three times they’ve played against us. That’s some stat’.

‘This is a great opportunity for some of my players to go out there and become a meme’.

‘I’ve told the lads to go out and enjoy it. It will probably be the last time they play at that level’.

Meanwhile, Bayern are hoping to set a new Champions League scoring record against the North London side – according to leading goal scorer Harry Kane.

‘There was a real fear before the draw that we wouldn’t get Arsenal’, a jubilant Kane told Paddy Power News.

‘I told the lads, if that happens, we move on and hopefully we get the opportunity to batter them later in the tournament.

‘But we got the draw we wanted. There was so much relief in the dressing room. Some of the lads were reduced to tears.

‘I know it’s dangerous to think too far ahead in football but I’m certain I’ll score a double-hattrick at the Emirates’.

In related news, John Obi Mikel is recovering well after having the smile surgically removed from his face after picking Arsenal out of the hat to face Bayern.

The former Chelsea midfielder was UEFA’s special guest drawing teams out of the pot and couldn’t hide his delight after ensuring Arsenal had the toughest possible route to the final.

Doctors say the 36-year-old is recovering well after the complicated five-hour procedure.

‘We managed to remove around 95% of the grin’ Dr Steph O’Scope told Paddy Power News.

‘Though there is a possibility of a relapse if they meet Real or City in the semis’.
