Manchester City winger Jeremy Doku is set to star in the sixth and final season of the hit Netflix series Cobra Kai.
The 21-year-old Belgian international posted a video to X (formerly Twitter) giving fans a glimpse of his season 6 training regime which includes fly kicking his opponents in the chest.
Doku received the casting call after impressing Cobra Kai producers with his high boot which caught Alexis Mac Allister in City’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool at Anfield yesterday.
Liverpool were denied a last-second penalty because VAR Stuart Attwell felt Doku’s foot was in a ‘reasonable position’. That position being Mac Allister’s solar plexus.
Season 6 sees Miyagi-do, run by sensei Daniel LaRusso and Johnny’s Eagle Fang dojo, earning the chance to compete against Doku in the elite Sekai Taikai international karate tournament.
‘Strike first. Strike hard. No mercy’, Doku told Paddy Power News while fly kicking a mannequin’s head off.
‘A true cobra feels no sympathy for its meals. Especially delicious ginger Argentinian meals’.
The news will come as a blow to City boss Pep Guardiola who will be missing the former Anderlecht star for the title run in.
‘We cannot replace him. We cannot’, wept the Spaniard.
‘Jeremy is one of the best in the world at chest height tackles and I was depending on him to kick the living sh*t out of the opposition for the rest of the season’.
Guardiola admitted he’s reached out to former City midfielder Nigel de Jong in a bid to fill the void left by Doku’s move into karate and terrible acting.
‘Nigel is willing to come out of retirement and rake his studs down a few chests until the end of the season, which is nice of the lad’.
‘The club are working on a deal but if that falls through there are other options. Jackie Chan is one. Chuck Norris is another’.
