Tottenham Hotspur have removed a table tennis table from their training base in anticipation of Son Heung-min’s return following South Korea’s humiliating Asian Cup exit.
The move comes after a bust-up between Son and his teammates over a game of table tennis on the eve of their semi-final clash with Jordan which they lost 2-0.
Reports claim several young players in the squad had rushed eating their meal so they could play table tennis which infuriated Son who dislocated an eyelash in the resulting melee.
In the wake of the incident, Tottenham have cancelled a proposed team bonding trip to a local Decathlon store over fears of further violence from Son.
And with the winger back at the North London club’s training ground, Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou instructed staff to remove a table tennis table among other sporting goods from the recreational areas around the facility.

‘We’re at a crucial moment in the season and I can’t risk Son beating the sh*t out of someone with a table tennis paddle and causing them an injury, mate’, Postecoglou told Paddy Power News.
‘He’s a real stickler for dining etiquette. One time he swung a dumbbell at James Maddison for eating soup with a dessert spoon’.
‘I’ll not even tell you where he shoved a pool cue when Richarlison burped during breakfast.
‘So, we won’t be taking chances from now until the end of the season – we even stuck the f**king Foosball table on Facebook Marketplace.
‘Fifty quid or nearest offer. No timewasters, by the way’.
When asked if the club planned to discipline Son over the Asia Cup incident, Postecoglou took a philosophical view.
‘Well, let’s be honest. They’re not the first footballers to have a punch-up over Jordan’.
‘And they won’t be the last’.
