Following Arsenal’s historic win over Liverpool, the club has confirmed they have already sold out of the commemorative DVD, leaving thousands of fans disappointed at being asked to wait a week for new stock to arrive.
The release, which was snapped up by fans in minutes, includes full match coverage in multiple languages and contains a bonus disc showing Mikel Arteta running up and down the touchline in slow motion that runs to over 40 minutes as well as a compilation of “Kai Havertz’s Greatest Gooner Moments”, that has a more modest 40 second run time.
There’s also a fold-out “Make your own Emirates technical area” which allows fans the chance to recreate the touchline infringements of the Gunners boss in their own home, and a brief interview with Arsenal legend Michael Thomas asking “why the f**k are we making such a big deal out of this game? My goal against Liverpool actually did win us the league!?!”
There are five different sleeves in retro-style to collect as well, ensuring fans are milked for every penny, not that those queuing at the club shop are complaining.
“I’ve been in the queue since Monday morning and will wait in line for as long as it takes, until I get my hands on a copy. I expect it will be entered into film festivals and win lots of awards,” said a die-hard supporter.
“After which they’ll release a director’s cut that focuses just on Mikel Arteta for 90 minutes with a bonus commentary by the gaffer. Can’t wait to buy that too.”
Going straight in as their fastest-ever selling club DVD, ‘Celebration Sunday: There’s No Such Thing As Overdoing it’ has overtaken recent favourites ‘Community Shield Champions’ and ‘Title Charge: We Pushed City All The Way’, which were both top sellers in 2023.
Meanwhile, club legend Ian Wright has been appointed president of the club’s official Party Planning Committee.
Having taken to social media to make his feelings clear on how appropriate he feels it is celebrating a mid-season win in such a manner, Wright is understood to have caught the attention of senior club officials who were quick to act, offering their former striker this newly created yet prestigious and definitely real role.
“Wrighty is over the moon, he’s already been on the blower to Kevin Campbell and Ray Parlour about getting involved,” announced a club delegate.
Unconfirmed reports have suggested Wright has already created an operational Party Planning Task Force consisting of Martin Odegaard, the photographer Odegaard took photos of, the curly haired fan who Sky cameras zoomed in on as he wildly cheered Arsenal’s 1-0 win at Old Trafford in 1998, Angela from the U.S Office who spearheaded the Dunder Mifflin Party Planning Committee, the Vengaboys, and three government officials responsible for the Partygate scandal.
