The Carabao Cup returns for another season with plenty of fizz as the 92 teams in the top four leagues of English football battle it out for the first trophy of the season. Sorry, Arsenal fans, the Community Shield does not count!
Casemiro and Marcus Rashford netted in last campaign’s final at Wembley as Manchester United beat Newcastle to kick off Erik ten Hag’s reign as Red Devils boss in perfect fashion.
The Premier League’s elite clubs have dominated the Carabao Cup over the last 10 years and those competing in Europe get a bye to the third round while the rest of the top-flight teams enter proceedings in round two.
