Sofyan Amrabat won Manchester United’s annual Transfer Saga of the Summer award.
The Moroccan international was presented with the gong by 2022 winner Frenkie de Jong at a glitzy event in the Lowry Hotel last night.
Previous recipients of the prestigious prize, including Jadon Sancho and Paul Pogba, cheered loudly as Amrabat dedicated the award to United’s transfer delegation.
‘I would like to thank Manchester United for stringing me along all summer’, said Amrabat after picking up the award.
‘Being demoted to train with Fiorentina’s under-9s team and irreparably damaging my relationship with their fans has been a particular highlight’.
‘I look forward to the transfer window slamming shut and realizing I’ve potentially ruined my career over a move that was never going to materialise’.

‘Special praise must be reserved for Richard Arnold and his predecessor Ed Woodward. Without whom his award would not even exist’.
2016 winner Paul Pogba rejoined United for a world record fee after unusually lengthy negotiations with Juventus.
The Frenchman was regarded as one of the best midfielders in the world at the time but told Paddy Power News how United helped change all that.
‘The price tag was a heavy burden. But over time, with the help of a lot of sh*te teammates, I left the club six-years later for free with my reputation in tatters’.
‘I thank my lucky stars every day that I turned down the opportunity to win three Champions League titles with Real Madrid to play alongside Fred at United’.
Jadon Sancho, winner of back-to-back titles in 2020 and 2021, was equally delighted by the downward spiral his career has been on since joining the Reds following a protracted transfer saga.
‘I was a regular in the England side and a 20 goals per season winger before Ole Gunnar Solskjaer identified me as the new Jesse Lingard and look at me now. Now I play second fiddle to Anthony’.
